Went to have a print custom framed. The person working at the counter immediately cautioned me they were working on a “big” project. They were not rude, but their tone was a bit aggressive. I moved to the other side of the cash register, then another person came up to help. I thought they were going to help me, but instead stated they were in the middle of an “intense” project and were going to be awhile. I asked how long, they replied “how much time do you have?”. I told them I could wait a few minutes, but didn’t have a lot of time and asked for a time estimate on the wait. She reiterated they were in the midst of whatever they were working on. They didn’t offer to try to find someone else to help me, nor did she ask to see what I wanted framed to ascertain how simple/difficult my “project” was going to be. At that point, I certainly had the impression my presence was an inconvenience so I told them I would just go somewhere else, to which they replied “ok, sorry about that”. No one was openly rude, however, I left the store feeling like I had been “dismissed”, and my business was not of any importance to them. I’m typically a pretty agreeable person, but sometimes a person just has to take a stand (ya know?). I get several photos/prints custom framed every year and I will NEVER use...
Read moreDo not go here if you are a minority. I am a black women that shopped here with my husband and 2 kids when we shopped previously a bag was left behind. We called a manager they told us to come back and get it even if we didnt have the receipt. When my husband went to the customer service desk a cashier understood and said ok and bagged the item. I was still shopping with my kids. We go to check out our other items and a short heavy set caucasian women who said she was the manager talked to us as rude as she could and told my husband we cant leave the store with the item because we dont have our receipt after the previous cashier said it was ok, bagged the item and gave it to us while we were still shopping. She argued with us as we explained the situation and was so very rude. I broke up the conversation and told her its not worth it for us to do what we were told by the manager on the phone to get yelled at and treated like a criminal. She then said the cashier told her my husband put the item in the bag without her permission. There is no way that happened. I am disgusted and i will be calling corporate come monday morning. This ruined my night. This lady was so nasty and rude and did all of this in front of my kids. I will NEVER go yo this...
Read moreI felt like this Michael's more than other Michael's stores (and other craft stores), simply because the store layout make sense and finding whatever it is that I am looking for (or, whatever my two kids may be looking for) is very easy to do. I rarely have to wait long in line at checkout - and, for the most part, the cashiers are very friendly.
They have a larger selection of children's craft sets than some of the others Michael's stores that I have shopped at. And, as this is a big, big deal for my kids, their neighbors and their classmates - they have a very large selection of Rainbow Loom accessories and Rainbow Loom bands. They also, on occasion, will have brand new products that crafters have long been waiting for, before you can even find them on Amazon! With Amazon being such a big conglomerate, this is a pretty big deal! (For the crafty people, anyhow)!
Finally, I prefer this particular Michael's to the many that I've shopped at - if you're in a pinch, and nature calls, their restrooms are always clean and fully stocked. (That is a HUGE compliment)! The store is always clean as well - and it will continue to be my go-to craft store over all of the other craft stores, which are only...
