I have been a loyal Kroger customer for many years, my family spends approx. $1500.00 monthly on groceries at Kroger, and we take advantage of any time and/or money savings that we can. That being said, Meijer had a promotion a while back offering some money back for trying their curbside pickup experience. I have used that service at Kroger many many times, and am usually disappointed in it. They will mark something missing and then I have parked and went inside and purchased it, almost every time. My fruits and veggies are often overripe or small...bad choices by someone who does not care. Kroger also on many occasions have not had my order ready when I arrived to pick up. I have used Meijer Curbside pickup 5 times now, and I am perfectly pleased with them. Not only have they always had everything that I ordered, on 3 of the 5 occasions they messaged me a few hours early that my order was ready for pickup. They are always courteous and polite, prompt, and my veggies and fruits are nicely chosen as if I shopped for them myself. I will still have to occasionally stop in Kroger to purchase an item that I could not find at Meijer, like today I needed Clam Juice and did not find it. I stayed at Kroger for a long time because I liked the fuel savings from rewards points, but Meijer has recently began a rewards points system as well. I intend to spend my 1500.00-2000.00 monthly between Meijer, Costco, and Carfagnas...times are not easy and life is expensive, it feels good and right to spend my money at places that try hard to make me happy and give me great service and good food...
Read moreI shop both at Meijer & Wal-Mart. I've had times where I would purchase something at Meijer and found the same item for cheaper at Wal-Mart. Name of the game, I guess. Other than that, Meijer feels more down to home than most stores, and they make you feel like family. It's very calming walking the Lewis Center store. The store is clean and there have been times you don't see anyone then all of a sudden you her, "Hello, good morning" and there is an employee with a big smile. This is to one employee with nice thick hair in the mornings. She always brightens the day! I've seen some of the same employees work there for years, so they must be doing something right. It feels good to know you can say hi and are greeted with more than just the norm hello rather than the don't bother me attitude. Tiffany at customer service definitely gives a sense of family and more. She helps anyway she can, no questions asked. Thanks again for your help with my coupon this morning! Also, I don't know her name, which I should by now, but a big thanks to the little lady with glasses on self checkout in the mornings. She is always there before you even have to ask. Helping when she can, answering questions, and scanning bigger items so you don't have to take them out of the cart. It's the feeling of trust when something won't scan or an item doesn't have a bar code. You give the price of what the item is, and they enter it in. If you earn the trust, you will receive it 10-fold. This is how the world should be. The little town feeling! Thank...
Read moreI absolutely hate this store. We literally spend thousands a month here and they treat people like garbage. We were deliberately and aggressively coughed on by an employee. They acted as though they were annoyed we were wearing masks. We had our 2 year old daughter with us as well. She passed us and started theatrically coughing on us. Her spit literally fell on my head and my daughters. She then laughed and walked to the back to an employee section (we were in the back of the store in the animal section). We just stood there in complete shock. They also never honor their deals. We continue to spend a certain amount in order to get a coupon deal and they never honor it. For example, we will spend $85 in baby formula for a $20 mperk coupon. It never prints out and they say they can't do anything for you. They completely scam and lie to get you to spend more money knowing they aren't going to honor the terms and conditions of the reward or "mperk". Please, protect yourself and your families and do not go to this store. The employees are blatantly rude, block things and have even become aggressive. They never honor their deals, sales or mperk coupons. Planning on filing a BBB complaint due to them never honoring their mperk coupons or rewards. We are also still considering filing a criminal complaint based on the female employee who followed us and coughed on us. I called corporate and the belligerent woman hung up on us. We are still in complete shock a business behaves in such an unprofessional, borderline...
