Not a happy long time Karl's customer! I've been buying our heating, cooling and appliances from furguson (who purchased Karl's) for over 20 years. We went in 7 years ago looking to purchase a Wolf range when the sales rep says " I can't get you a better range at a better price" So, we took his professional advice we bought an American Range. What a piece of garbage!!! In the time we've owned it we've replaced the oven igniter three times, broiler igniter twice, oven thermostat three times. The sealed burners become - "unsealed" and allow any water that spills over down into the burners. It wouldn't be that big of a deal but, the hardware is not stainless and everything rusted inside! The technician that fixed it the last time had to drill out all of the rusted screws and replace them with stainless hardware. Of course out of warranty! $250 in labor just to replace all of the rusted parts. So, when the oven thermostat blew (again) we refused to fix it again. Sold it on Craigslist! Went back to Carl's and the sales rep said " oh yeah, we don't sell those anymore they're garbage...." We can sell you the Wolf that you originally wanted. And he proceeded to quoted us list price. Even after I gave him the long repair list over the last seven year. We were told the "American Range" was the last range we'd ever have to buy. And here we are again... And to rub salt in the wounds "list price". Obviously the American Range was garbage! Karl's should have stepped up and did something for our seven years of pain and suffering. (How about a free toaster?...ha ha) Bought our new range from P.C. Richards who blew away the competitions prices! They even gave us a deal on a 10 year warranty. I now sleep...
Read moreI visited on this address at 557 Main Street, Orange NJ yesterday. I was very disappointed and wasted my time of coming here. First I cant find the entrance of the store, in front of the store door there's a big sign says "DOLLAR TREE", I ask the 2 people who work outside the building they both don't speak English. I walk to the back of the building where there is a sign says Karls customer pick up, when I open the door it was a warehouse storage, glad someone walk in and direct me to the sales person. The worst sales person I ever encounter in my life. A grumpy old man who have zero personality of talking to customers, I went to the other 2 sales people who was very busy chatting to themselves. I was hoping I get service. I was completely ignored and I just walk out the door. I drove very far to come in to their store and bring our truck because I really want to bring 2 or 3 appliances home today. I walk out very disappointed!! Never recommend to anyone to come and buy appliances, you just wasting your time! My rate to them was the lowest you can get, if there is lower than 1 star, I will rate them the lowest...
Read moreThis was the worst customer experience I have ever had. I went about a month ago and as others have pointed out no one wanted to help me. I was looking to redo my kitchen, all new appliances. George unwillingly finally helped us. He was surly and unhelpful. He was not very knowledgeable although he stated on four occasions he had been selling ovens for 30 years. In the end he hand wrote the appliance we were looking at, not ven typed or a printout. I left without buying. Went to Madison store which was a better experience. I returned to Orange to buy. They were very unhelpful and told me they could not take my money. I had to complete a form and someone would call me back within a week to take my payment info. What kind of store does not want to make a 5 figure purchase? This one. Everyone who works there is awful, no people skills and horrible attitude. If it was not for the savings on the sales tax I would not know how they would still be in business. If I was purchasing a single item I would eat the savings to never have to deal with the...
