This was our second time trusting Mears transportation to get us from our Disney resort to the airport and it will be our last. First off, the bus was nearly an hour late. Scheduled for pick up at 4:40 and we didn’t actually load until 5:30. But tardiness was the least of our problems. Within 5 minutes of being on board our driver stops the bus in the middle of a 4 lane highway intersection and takes off running. When we look out the window we see everyone’s luggage scattered in the ditch and along the road. Unfortunately my son’s suitcase was ran over and destroyed. My husband and a few other passengers helped the driver retrieve the rest of the luggage and keep more of it from being destroyed. After we reloaded, we went to another resort to pick up more passengers. As we were turning into the resort the bags fly out of the undercarriage again! Thankfully, none of it ran over. The driver claims the hatch had a sensor that was faulty and when the bags hit it, the door would open. When we got to the airport, all Mears would do is provide me a card with the customer service number. We had to repack all of our bags and then went over the weight limit. Not to mention the things within our bag that were destroyed or lost on the side of the road. I understand mistakes happen. Our driver was doing the best he could with a bus of angry drivers and a company who refused to send him back up when requested. However, Mears has avoided any conversations and is refusing to accept any blame. I received an email that offered $58 to reimburse our ride. How insulting! We are just thankful that this happened on our way home and not to start our week at Disney!

Mears Coach review 2023 On a recent vacation to Orlando, FL, a friend and I had the opportunity to utilize the Mears Coach shuttle services for the first time. At this point neither one of us had heard of this company before. The routes we used were Orlando International Airport, Universal Dockside Resort, Universal Studios, Volcano Bay, and Islands of Adventure. We were very impressed with the service overall, not only with the prompt/constant availability but also the courteous and professional service. This being my first experience with your services, I have nothing but positive thoughts about it. I was very impressed with there always being a bus at the main stops as they do not leave until the next bus arrives behind them. I also like the safe manner in which the drivers operate the buses, at no time that I feel unsafe or concerned for other passengers. I guess my only gripe/complaint would be the rare occasion where the bus seemed to be at capacity, but I understand that that is not completely under Mears' control. I think Mears is setting an excellent example for the overall shuttle/transportation industry and other companies should follow their example. I will be returning to this area again soon for yet another vacation and I will be expecting the same quality of service this time, and next year when I attend the new Epic Universe property. Anyways, I rate this a five out of five, great job. I also recommend this shuttle service to others. This review is of my own opinion and experience and is not influenced or altered in any way by other reviews, ai technology or endorsements of any kind.

On Dec. 23rd I took a Mears taxi from MCO to my apartment 3.5 miles away, about a 10-12 minute drive. While the driver was kind and helpful with our bags, we paid a big $28.73 ($26.85 before the 7% tax) for the short ride. The window by the backseats of the taxi says it’s 2.75 for the first 1/4 mile and $4 additional for the first 1/4 if the ride is from the airport. Then it’s $0.70 for every additional 1/4 mile or 80 seconds spend waiting at lights or in traffic. Excluding the first 1/4 miles there’s 13 1/4 miles for the whole distance of the drive. $0.70 13 times plus the 6.75 for the first 1/4 miles is $15.85. We would have to be waiting at lights or in traffic for 20 minutes to make up the $11 difference. Could someone explain why I was charged so much? I watched the screen by the driver go up quickly $0.70 at a time and was worried but I couldn’t look up the numbers during the ride since I just came back to the country and didn’t have cell service yet plus I was exhausted after 18 hours of travel so I didn’t bother questioning the driver. Also, after spending almost $30 for a 10 minute ride you have to leave a tip, you have the option of “other” which lets you select a percentage of 1% at minimum. The whole things just doesn’t seem right.

Let me preface this review by saying our group of four included my 60+ year old mom and my 4 year old son. This was our first trip to Orlando and Disney and everything about our trip was fantastic until our last day because of MEARS.

Our scheduled departure from our resort to the airport was 1:15 pm. We arrived to our resort lobby from a character breakfast an hour before departure, so we waited inside. At 1:00 pm, we moved outside to the airport shuttle sign as instructed in the email I received. A bus arrived at 1:15 pm and when I showed the driver my boarding pass, he said he was not our driver and they were running behind. Close to 1:30, another bus pulled up and said he was only dropping off, not picking up. I had received a text earlier with a link to tracking information for our bus, but it was useless and showed absolutely no information. I called to ask about the status of the bus and spoke to someone who put me on a 5 minute hold and when she came back, she said that a bus would be coming in 3 minutes, dropping off people, and “would clear” to pick us up and take us directly to the airport without any additional stops. As soon as we hung up at 1:35 pm, a bus showed and AGAIN told us he was not picking us up. Then another bus showed at 1:55 pm telling us the same thing. That’s FOUR different busses for anyone not keeping count! MEARS was so late that one of the Disney resort cast members from bell services noticed how long we were standing there and asked what time our bus was supposed to arrive.

Finally, at 1:57 pm, a bus arrived that picked us up. Once we started moving, he called my group out over the loudspeaker for everyone else on board to hear and acknowledged he’s aware that we had a 4:30 flight, but he was making 2 additional stops because “that’s what he was told to do.” At this point, I made it clear how frustrating this was because we were told he would not be making any stops. He simply said that TSA wait times were only about 10 minutes at the time and he’d get us to the airport by 3:00 pm.

We did arrive right at 3:00 pm, but it left us rushing through the airport to get bags checked and get through security. Thankfully, TSA did only take about 15 minutes (which I think is unusual for MCO) and we made it to our gate just 30 minutes before boarding (just enough time to use the restroom and grab dinner for my son to eat before the flight).

I’m not entirely sure a bus would have even picked us up if I hadn’t called. It’s understandable to run a few minutes behind, but to be 45 minutes late is ridiculous. The communication internally versus what they are telling the customer is broken! This definitely brought unnecessary stress to my group who was already anxious about flying and navigating an unfamiliar airport. It put a sour note to the ending of our amazing week. We planned accordingly, were on time, and it isn’t our fault they didn’t have it together. I would not recommend MEARS and we will not use them for future trips to Orlando based on this experience. We’d rather find an Uber or rent a car...

From start to finish, Mears Express delivered an absolutely flawless transportation experience to my Disney resort from Orlando International Airport (MCO). The entire process was seamless, professional, and truly set the tone for the magical vacation ahead.

Upon arrival at MCO, the Mears staff was highly organized, welcoming, and efficient. Signage to the Mears check-in location was clear and easy to follow, and once checked in, there was virtually no wait time before boarding. The staff at the terminal was courteous, informative, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring guests had a smooth transition to their Disney destinations.

The vehicle itself was immaculate — clean, comfortable, and clearly well-maintained. It was air-conditioned to a perfect temperature, offering a very welcome reprieve from the Florida humidity. Seating was spacious and comfortable, and the ride was quiet and relaxing. I greatly appreciated the professional driving: safe, smooth, and respectful of both traffic laws and the comfort of passengers.

What impressed me most was the punctuality and the direct nature of the service. Mears Express did not make multiple lengthy stops; instead, the drop-off process was quick and efficient, getting me to my Disney resort in a fraction of the time compared to other shared transportation options I’ve used in the past.

The Mears team maintained consistent communication via text and email updates regarding pickup instructions and timing, adding an extra layer of reassurance for travelers navigating a busy airport environment.

In an era where many transportation services can feel rushed or impersonal, Mears Express stood out by delivering a polished, guest-focused experience that truly elevated the start of my Disney trip. The service felt premium without the premium price tag, and I would not hesitate to recommend Mears Express to anyone looking for a stress-free, reliable, and enjoyable transfer between MCO and the Disney resorts.

Mears has undoubtedly earned my loyalty for future visits to Orlando.

Highlights:

Immediate and courteous check-in process

Clean, comfortable, and well-maintained vehicle

Professional, safe, and friendly driver

Minimal waiting and timely service

Excellent communication via text/email updates

Direct and efficient transfers without unnecessary...

If you have small children, avoid this company...they are ill-equipped to transport them.

Last week we went to FL and had a perfectly fine, safe trip on a large bus from the airport to our hotel. Car seats were not needed on the bus. However, during that trip, the driver advised all passengers that the vehicle that picks us up for our return trip may be different. Concerned about the possibility of actually needing car seats for our two young children, I contacted Mears ahead of our scheduled trip back to the airport and the representative assured me that the type of vehicle that would be transporting our family would not require car seats. However, the vehicle that arrived was a taxi (maybe an 8-passenger van) and clearly one that necessitated the use of car seats, but the car seat situation was abysmal. The car seats were falling apart (literally, one came apart when we picked it up), unable to be installed properly (the seatbelts were impossible to "lock" and there were no places to hook the car seat anchors), and there was no way to safely secure our kids (one of the seats didn't even have a buckle or harness). The driver handled our concern as best he could given the circumstances, but he was completely unprepared to transport children. When I called Mears after arriving at the airport, I was told that there was a last-minute change and that the taxi had been dispatched instead of one of the other, safer modes of transportation. I was also told someone should have contacted us to notify us in advance of the change, but no one reached out.

Like many parents, we chose Mears because it allowed us to travel from the Northeast to FL without the added burden of traveling with car seats. They compromised the safety of our kids and have not yet even had the courtesy to respond. We will not be using them again and, if you are in need of transportation, find a company that guarantees they are fully prepared to safely transport your...
