Short Review: Tony is the friggin' man. This is no massage - this is body work, which is MUCH much better and with longer-lasting results when compared to a massage. My body cracks less, and there are areas of my body that needed healing that I never knew needed assistance.
Detailed Review: I'm 27, and was looking to get a typical massage somewhere in Orlando. I am well-endowed (H cup), so massages are appealing to the shoulders/back at any given moment. It had been about two years since I had gotten a massage, and I stumbled upon this business during my search and was very intrigued by their assisted stretching and all the details that are mentioned on their website. However, what sold me into actually booking the appointment and overlooking the pricing were the reviews on Google, Yelp, etc. - ALL 5 stars. All with over 30 reviews. People making claims like "I've seen a chiropractor for years and they never did what these people at Balance Orlando did for my back issues," and other similar accounts. I thought to myself "Hmmm, okay. I gotta' check this out for myself," because I have never been to a chiropractor for my shoulder/back issues, and if people are making such extreme claims, I just had to experience what these people had experienced. That was the justification for spending roughly $160 (with tip) for a 90-minute assisted stretching/massage combo session.
So, it's just like it sounds - assisted stretching. Stretching out the arms, legs, back, neck, glutes - you name it.
Now, let me tell you the differences that I have noticed in my body after a month of having had this body work done: The first thing I noticed was extreme improvement in my neck. Usually, I cannot lie on my side for even five minutes without it screwing up my neck for the remainder of the day (I'm typically a back sleeper). And sometimes, my neck will randomly lock and feel like if I moved it any further, it would surely break. But now? Now I can lie on my side without any issues of discomfort at all afterwards, and I haven't experienced a single neck-lock. That improvement alone is what brings me to write a review for this business. As for my shoulders, I have noticed that they are SIGNIFICANTLY less tender. Everything in the neck/shoulder area is more free-flowing and less locked/choked.
The last thing I noticed is quite unusual... so, one of the areas of the body that gets stretched during these sessions is your pelvic floor. From this stretch, I have noticed I can hold my pee in my bladder purse lot better for a lot longer instead of having to sprint to the nearest toilet in a frenzied panic.
Overall, my body feels like it's more capable of handling extreme exercises. This experience has helped push me to focus more on my body and hail it as a temple instead of regarding it as just some vessel to get from point A to point B. To say the least, it's a gift to your body that keeps on giving, and I will never get a regular massage ever again.
And special thanks to Tony, and his expertise in this area of magic; I will be back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI workout a lot. Have been for 15+ years now. As Iāve gotten older Iāve tried to be more aware of my body, paying attention to breathing technique and form over reps. Iāve maintained a healthy physique. I maintain a significant amount ot compound activity in my workouts ā squats, snatch and grab, deadlift. About 3 months ago it was deadlift day. Iād made it to a 300+ pound max. This day wasnāt as high. I got in place, bent and grabbed the bar, took a breath and pulled, breathing and planting my feet as I moved up. I felt a pull or a twinge, I couldnāt say for sure but something didnāt feel right and I wasnāt sure whether it was my hamstring, low back or glute, but I set the bar down, breathe and continued through the set.
For 3 months after a low, nagging, not overwhelming but not debilitating pain ensued. A slight throb and some weakness. I didnāt stop working out but added my preworkout stretching, post stretching, yoga and lots of ibruprofen. I also iced and tried hot/cold therapy. There would be slight relief but it stayed and I thought Iād just deal with it.
A week and a half ago I met with a friend from out of country who was travelling with a cushion.. I wondered why heād need to do that and he noted that he developed a slip disc after taking an MRI. That really scared me and I thought I better go see a doc. Before though I thought I should try one more thing, a therapeutic massage.
I found Balance and went in, described my issue and the therapist suggested myofascial mobilization focusing on my glute, hamstring and a bit low back. Itās been a week and Iāve experienced significant improvement. I donāt climb outta bed with that grab your back, throb of pain and have more confidence in my workout. The therapist did say that it wouldnāt be immediate but after about 3 sessions I should be good and based on how I feel I totally agree with her assessment. I just scheduled my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI so wanted to love this!! I haven't had a massage for over a year and was really excited and in dire need. My masseuse, Lesliayn was very very nice, but I left still in pain and disappointed.
My husband chose this spot for me because they specialize in prenatal massage and have such high reviews.
First turn off is the location set up, having an outside bathroom is incredibly inconvenient for a pregnant lady and made it impossible to sneak away for a quick potty break like I have at other places using a robe or towel. The massage rooms do face the parking lot and you can hear traffic. The setup was very clinical, the sunlight came in a lot leading to a bright room. No diffusers or scents. No candles. No relaxed feeling. It was more like a medical office.
Maybe we misunderstood each other about the massage, because it started so great. But again it was so clinical and barely any lotion used, so it felt like dry rubbing my skin. She really focused on my pain areas, but I said I was really hoping for a whole body relaxation massage. She went so slow and dry that my feet, hands, right arm, neck and craniofacial muscles were never even touched and those are my favorite parts of massage!! When she said ok I hope you have some relief I was so sad, we hadn't even gotten to the good parts. And pregnant ladies NEED their hands and feet cared for. I wish I had not even mentioned my pain so I could have at least gotten a whole body massage. And unfortunately I am at home sitting on a heat pack still in pain.
Overall. I am sad and disappointed, and will be begging my husband to rub my feet tonight after he just spent this money to...
