We’re great fans of this College Park wine business, which draws a loyal following of enthusiasts who bond over common interests, not least being the store’s wonderfully unique selection of fine wines that smartly represent the world’s leading regions and producers. There are always gems to be found in all price ranges, and the stylish backroom cellar contains little treasures that reach back deeply into exceptional vintages.
The store is owned and operated by two young but seasoned wine sales veterans who show a passion for finding finely crafted wine to delight their growing base of ardent customers. They are also engaged in a thoughtful transformation of their Edgewater Drive building, creating a space that is sleekly modern and roomy. It offers a casually welcoming ambience where camaraderie is evident and friends are easily made.
The location is very convenient with ample parking right in front of the building, just steps away. The business also features a fine shaded outdoor terrace that is an oasis in cooler months. Here you can sip something special with friends and significant others in the jasmine-scented open air.
Of late, the business has hosted a variety of special wine events - including unique bottle tasting sessions and seminars. The space has also been a venue for a number of private events. It’s especially suited to small and medium-sized occasions, and with the bonus of so many great wines in-house, there is the assurance of very special beverages with which to elevate any event. We recently catered a client’s corporate event here at Digress and it was a smash hit. The owners were super to work with, the facilities were ideal and by all reports a grand time was had by our attendees.
We highly recommend Digress Wines as a special place to get to know well on a personal basis, and as a superb...

If you're looking for back vintage wines this is your place. The back room is full of pristinely aged vintage wines from Bordeaux, Rhone, Burgundy, Champagne, Piedmont, Tuscany, Rioja, Priorat, et al. - all stored in a temperature controlled environment. There is also a great selection of current European and American wines on-hand - all curated by proprietor Jay Smith. No mass produced plonk to be found! There really is something for everybody here.
Believe it or not, Cavanaugh's is also the BEST venue for live jazz in Orlando on Friday & Saturday nights. You can bring your own take-out or order delivery - no food is served on premise except popcorn. There is a $7.50 cover charge, but on jazz nights only. Pick any bottle you want, be it an 1982 Cheval Blanc or a 1997 Chateau Rayas; the there is no corkage. You can also order from a small selection of by-the-glass offerings as well as a few beer selections.
I could go on and on, but you should really just make a point of stopping in sometime to see it for yourself. Cavanaugh's is still the best kept secret in College Park - for the...
Read moreMy wife calls me a snob - lovingly - however to an affect she is right. I am recent transplant in Orlando from NYC, where I had the pleasure to be immersed in the wine scene for over three years. Cavanaugh's is a breath of fresh air amidst the dreary stock pile of crap that is found at ABC and Total Wine alike. While, yes, there are some well crafted massively produced wines that can be found at Total Wine - you have to know and care about what you're looking for to find it and at that point, you've more than likely already had it.
Cavanaugh's has a wide selection from importers like: Dressner, Skurnik, Lynch, Shiverick, Weygandt, and more. Importers that care about terroir, bottle to bottle variation, and most importantly - the producer. In the end, we drink what we like, I am grateful that I've settled in a part of town that has a shop that curates actual, fine wine.
Jay, the owner, will be celebrating his 21st anniversary for the store on Black Friday. He is equally as interesting and appealing as the...
