I came here because my cat has urinary track issues. At the time I brought him in, he was pretty inflamed and stressed. I have been through this before-so I knew what to expect. The vet suggested a few different medicines for him. One was a pain, the other was wet food, and last was a month supplies of a new medicine she wanted him to take. It was a risk if he would eat it but she strongly suggested it. I bought the wet food, the pills and the pain medicine- along with other suggested needs.

Unfortunately, my cat would not eat the pills and he would not eat the wet food she suggested. They told me I could bring it back if it didn’t work out. I wish they specified that I couldn’t bring back the $30 medicine they suggested. They JUST meant the wet food but made it seem it was everything I was getting. Miscommunication. It would have been nice to have a trial or one or two pills before asking patients to commit to a $30 script that “may not work out.” They also wanted to give an urinalysis so they told me they needed to give him an IV because he was dehydrated. When I got there to pick him up, they said he had not went to the bathroom yet and they had to keep sticking him cat with a needle in his bladder- no luck! I figured they would take that charge off- but they didn’t. I felt taken advantage off when I got charged nearly $275 for suggestions they made and most didn’t work out. I smelled urine when I came and picked him up but I assumed it was the vets office. Unfortunately, he was completely covered in his urine when I picked him up at that point, a lot of urine because they had been giving him IV’s all day.

After I got charged for the urinalysis, that didn’t work out.. they sent me one home to do myself. I completed the kit and dropped it back off.. they never called. I stopped by two weeks later and they had to write up the results. They then told me I needed a stool sample as well. They had never gave me one so I had to repeat the drop off process. Super disappointing.

I called this week to see if I could switch his prescription food to something new. I was told I would be called back that day or the next… nothing. I called them and she said she would remind the vet. It took them most of the work week to evaluate the new food. I still have not heard back- so hopefully soon. Overall, I felt taken advantage of with her suggestions for my cat. It was very pricey and nothing besides the pain medicine worked out. My cat was covered in his own urine and that was painful in itself. My cat underwent a lot of stress and overall, I feel bad I left him to be poked over and over again- with no end results. It is hard to pay for something they suggested, that did not work out.

I never wanted to feel taken advantage especially when it comes to my animals-they are expensive already! I always feel she’s “too busy” for my cat and I. I continue to hear that from the veterinarian and the office-so I can’t be far off. Though I live under a mile away, I will not be back to this vet. Convenience is great, but I don’t want to feel like I am being taken advantage of. I don’t like feeling like my time is worth so much less than hers. I suggest stop telling customers you’re so busy and be present when you have patients. If you’re suppose to call a patient back-you probably should do that sooner than later. Very disappointed in my experiences here. I wish it went better for us.

~Varsity Vet requires people to bring in their cat and or dog once a year to maintain a "client-patient-veterinarian relationship" for prescription food. Unless you plan on bringing your healthy animal in once a year for prescription food, don't bring your animal here.

Banfield Vet, and others don't require you to bring your healthy animal in for prescriptions food. This vet told me my cat would be on this for life and then did not approve the food because my healthy cat has not been seen in a year. At every turn this company is trying...

This is the best vet in Orlando, hands down.

We brought our sick kitten to them with zero clue of what was wrong. What we expected to be a check-up, ended up being that our kitten was very ill. Keep in mind we were new patients there and they did not know us, or our kitty very well. That didn't matter. This team treats you like family and loves your pet as if it is there own. When it turned out that our kitten had an incurable disease, they were so unbelievably kind and gracious throughout every step. They are reliable and compassionate, experts in their field. I trust that their advice is rooted in care for our animals and not making more money for their business. When our kitten died, they sent us a sympathy card and called us to check in on how we were doing. They are amazing.

We take our other two cats there and they receive the absolute best care. Dr. Olson is extremely knowledgeable of her field, and truly takes the time to explain what is going on with your pet. She makes the information understandable for us non-science folks and truly takes time with you and your pet. It is rare to see a doctor spend as much time as she does with the pet's owners, but she never rushes you, takes her time, and is willing to talk to you on the phone before or after your appointment to make sure you understand what is going on.

Horrible communication skills and customer service by the Vet, not the clerks or techs!!! Dog had an abcess on his neck that needed to be drained. Was not offered test the infection, install a drain tube, or a follow-up visit to make sure infection was cleared. (Visit 1 total cost $280) Infection reappeared within a month or so and took him back in to have it lanced again. This time they noticed an ear infection and wanted to test both infections. Why didn't they do this the first time??? Also, they did not offer to install a drain tube to allow the infection to drain properly. After this visit was told the follow-up visits were no charge, only to find on the receipt after payment, that was because the next visits were pre-paid in advance. (Visit costs $480) Final return visit they want to re-test the ear infection and charge re-evaluation fees, in addition to medicines. (Pretty sure it's still a yeast infection in the ear) (Visit cost would've been $160 plus the culture test) I called in to voice my complaint and find a solution. I agree to pay for only medicines and not their time. Vet tells me they will gather records for me to go somewhere else and hangs up on me during the conversation. The Vet Practice's actual owner comes in and waives the eval. fee, prescribes the medicines and discharges us. (She knew where this situation was headed) If you are getting vaccines sure go here, if you need something done to your animal get ready for more return...
