The store has a nice selection and is clean. Most of the employees there are nice. Today I went to make a return and had to deal with bad customer service. The lady who attended me made me feel uncomfortable for making a return. I was waiting in line. There were two cashier at the register. There was a 3rd lady behind the register area. She was putting clothes on hangers. After a while she makes eye contact with me and said "you ready" I go up to the register and let her know I am there to return broken earrings. I give her the product and my receipt. She opens the box's and loudly proclaims "you brought them back broken". She later on proceeded to ask me where the broken part is which was in the box...it was disappointing enough that I came to this store bought a pair of earrings I liked and had to go out of my way to return them because they broke before I could even try them on. So having to deal with an employee implying that I broke them and making me feel uncomfortable was definitely a cherry on top. I was planning on checking out the bathing suites while here but decided not too because who knows what other uncalled for comment this lady would have made. Customer service rule #1: don't make a guest feel uncomfortable. Asked if it was possible to put the bracelet in a Michael kors box that didn’t have a price tag on it as it was a Christmas gift. The associate said she couldn’t do that and I asked to speak to a manager. Elaine a KEY HOLDER informed me she wouldn’t allow the associate to put the bracelet in the box but was unable to give me a reason. I explained it was a Christmas gift and the box didn’t have any signs that it specifically went with that bracelet. She continued to say no with no reason. I asked to speak to an actual manager as she informed me she was a key holder and she said because there are no managers are on the floor she is acting as manager and has said no. I explained what her policy for customer service and customer satisfaction was and she ignored me. It’s insane to be treated as I was after spending $500+ on gifts. I’ll never spend another dollar at tj maxx and if I didn’t have to rush to get to a family dinner I would’ve returned everything I purchased. Don’t recommend this place they make up rules to bully customers as a power trip. I’ll never return and I’ll be telling everyone I know about my experience. They hired me and had me waiting for 3 weeks, I kept calling and every time I called they would tell me she “wasn’t in right now” or “can you call back in an hour” or “call back tomorrow so she can speak with you”. When I finally got in contact with her after waiting for 3 weeks she answered the phone with complete disrespect. Proceeded to raise her voice and give me attitude and disregarded the fact that another manager I called 3 days ago told me I was cleared to work and that she would call me in an hour to bring me onboard. She told me “I wasn’t worried about that I was taking care of my store for a hurricane.” After giving me attitude and being disrespectful she tried to flip it on me and say she doesn’t need someone like me working in the building.
