This review is way over do!! Ive been stopping by for lunch almost everyday for the last 3 weeks. And heres what i think! The cafe itself is a vibe of its own!! The decorations are all very appealing and instagram worthy forsure! From their cute coffee mug lights at their bar, to the authentic hand crafted mugs that were all brought over from colombia, and even the bathroom. Not a single area was neglected. It had positive quotes and decorations from wall to wall. The attention to detail can be seen everywhere. You'll find something new with every visit! But lets be honest i dont leave work on break to go see decor, i come for the food!!! And oh man do they bring it!! First time i went i was hooked! I couldnt stop ordering they're Chicken Panini, its to die for!! Now my usual is their tuna sandwich with a mango juice! I can not get enough. After comes the sweets!! I cant leave without a almond croissant, or a slice of flan for my mom! But what blows my mind the most is their vegan selection.... JUST WOW!! My girlfriend is vegan and i feel like for her to find a good vegan dish/dessert at a restaurant we can both eat at is nearly impossible. Here, we both eat like kings and queens!! I was born in South America and find alot of the "authentic" South American restaurants fall a little short one way or another. But this little cafe, is a slice of Colombia, in Orlando. The staff is very well trained, informed and attentive, any questions asked were always answered with a smile! The barista there when i usually go is Cardin! Shes professional, awesome, has great energy, so smart... i can go on and on but shes litteraly the definition of customer service. She greets me by name and remembers my adventures. She never forgets to ask about my crazy dog and wild kittys so i always feel at home and welcome. Ive always wanted a place where i can go to and feel known. Ive finally found it!! I also had to meet and applaud the one in charge of whipping up all the goodies too, her name is Karen. Shes a sweetheart and super talented in the kitchen. With out those two i dont think it would feel the same!! To sum it up the restaurant is definitely worth visiting. Whether your in the mood for some coffee, snacks, sandwiches, craving some sweets, or just somewhere to hang out at with some wonderful people. This cafe has it all! Add it to...
Read moreI’ve visited Kolombia Cafe several times over the years when I’m in the SoDo area, and it is a really nice place to stop by for coffee and a bite to eat. However, the reason for my 4 stars instead of 5 is the changes that have been gradually implemented around the store. When I first visited years ago, the store looked like it had a nice ambience and open. I absolutely loved the use of real cups for your coffee. It gave it this real coffeeshop feeling to it that you can’t get at mainstream places like Starbucks. This was my main reason for subsequent visits to be honest. They started offering more dessert choices and I was excited for it. They even advertised how they were soon offering vegan choices, not that I minded but I thought it was an exciting opportunity for customers. Then, little by little they changed drastically. Lots of the cute decorations went away. Yes, more food options, including platters, became available, but the placed became more filled with tables and fridges, losing some of that minimalistic appeal. And now today, on my last visit, I was left with more to desire from their food, drink, and overall presentation. Gone are the cute real cups with cardboard ones replacing them. The croissant I ordered was $7 after having to pay for the fillings, and it just looked like a regular old croissant that had been slapped together with a slice of cheese and ham, both still cold despite looking like it had been pressed. No offense to this establishment, since I’ve grown fond of it, but if this is the direction they’re heading, then I might as well stick with mainstream venues such...
Read moreI loved all the healthy options and the super friendly staff. The Cafe con leche was great BUT I ordered the gluten free panini with chorizo, red onions, ham and lettuce......TERRIBLE!!!! The panini was $7 for THE BREAD ALONE, and each topping was between $1 to $3. SERIOUSLY???? AND it doesn't even include a smear of mayo, mustard or oil, that is also an entra charge. I get they need to make a profit, but this just ridiculous. My sandwich was $11 Had ONE slice of ham, a bit of shredded lettuce, some sliced mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. No flavor at all. The driest, smallest panini ever (glasses in the picture for reference) even if it was gluten free. How can they advertise this as latin food? Isn't Latin food known for flavor and generous portion sizes? My gf had a croissant sandwich with sweet potatoes fries and a Cafe con Leche. It came down to be $60.... I wish i could've written a stellar review. People need to understand healthy does not equal tasteless. Cant believe it has a high rating. Either people lost all their taste buds during covid or they only ate the sweets. So...
