I wanted to put their name to the test.
The side structure of the place seems a bit old and not very well taken care of. There's a big glass window on the front as you walk from the parking on the side. A bit hard to park if there are a lot of people there, luckily there was only 1 other car.
I walk in, noticed they have about a dozen small tables with chairs, and there was a couple with a server being tended. The place is small, there are a few decorations around and a big mirror in front of what looked to be a small bar. The mirror makes the place look a bit deeper than what it really is, and beyond that is the kitchen.
I was awkwardly greeted by the server who seemed to have thought I was looking for the man who was behind the bar for some reason. I may have given the impression I was lost perhaps? With that cue I just walked up to the bar and asked for a menu.
I had white rice with shrimp creole, red beans and a side of sweet plantains with an ice cold Modelo beer. I was not expecting the food to be as good as it was. The shrimp were flavorful, the rice was cooked just right enough that it neither stuck together nor it crumbled as you fork it, and the beans had just enough flavor that salt was not needed. Sweet plantains were as they always are, sweet.
Number one Cuban restaurant in the area. I'm not sure how their business is doing, but with such amazing cooks in their kitchen it deserves more...
Read moreI give this place zero stars. The place was not very clean. Rude staff, owner and management. Went in with a coworker and order two different plates. Mine was chicken and rice. My chicken was undercooked, served to me raw, and the rice tasted like they cooked it in vinegar and not water. The only good thing they had was the plantain snack they give you. My co workers food was overly salted and did not taste good, she barely even touched it. I made a complaint to the waitress, and she told me I had to pay for the food since I ate it. Clearly these people do not have eyes because I did not eat anything. I tore the chicken off the bone to see how much of it was raw, which was all of it. I refused to pay, and she had the owner come over. I see where she got it from because he told us the same thing. We had to pay for the food even though I did not eat any of it. I stepped up to him to ask him why I had to pay for his disgusting, raw, tastes like ass piece of crap of Spanish food. HE was still rude to me and continued to interrupt me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DIE FROM...
Read moreFirst off i went during my 1 hour lunch break and it took me 10 minutes to park because there is no parking lot... the server didn't speak English and so i had to speak in Spanish to order my food. also, the food took 45 minutes to come out and it wasn't busy at all....my husband ordered a media noche sandwich and i ordered a traditional steak and rice and bean platter. the sandwich came out with ketchup in it and my steak was drier than a cactus in the desert. when i told the server that the sandwich came with ketchup she took it and said ill fix it. she came right back and said oh no that's not ketchup that's mustard...the sauce was pink in color and not yellow so it clearly was not mustard. after i argued that it was ketchup and not mustard she clearly stated well do you want the sandwich or do you want me to take it off your bill? seriously that's my only option??? i'm done with this place! first and last time i will ever pay $13 for a plate of food to be serviced this way... please don't...
