Unfriendly older man behind the counter. I only stop at this place if I happen to be driving by and need something quickly. Even though it’s the closest shop to my house, I avoid it whenever possible. The man who runs it—only person I’ve ever seen working there—comes off as irritated by the very idea of having customers. Asking him anything feels like a bother, and his overall demeanor is cold and standoffish.
Last visit, I picked up my usual papers and grabbed two packs of a new brand to try. Later that night, I opened one and found the wraps completely crinkled and unusable. Same with the second pack. Luckily I had backups. I went back the next day to exchange them, explained the issue, and—true to form—he said nothing, just took them from me and grabbed replacements like I was wasting his time. I told him I’d prefer to swap them for RAW instead. He didn’t speak, just let out a grunt and dropped the pack on the counter with some attitude.

Read moreThere's usually only one person working, which means it's so inconvenient if you're trying to make a quick purchase while someone is making a life choice on whether or not to buy an expensive item. Normally, everyone working is pretty nice, including this cashier. But I walked in, and I saw her helping out a customer who was making a pretty lengthy purchase, so I asked respectfully if I could borrow her for a sec because I just wanted one item. I simply asked, not commanded, it was just a question so she could have easily stated that she was in the middle of a sale or told me to hold on, but instead she became visibly angry and then gave a fake smile after a plethora of unpleasant facial expressions. Sweetheart, just use your voice. She was so unhappy to just ring up my item, which took less than 60 seconds and made the interaction so nasty when she could have just communicated that stopping with her other customer wasn't an option. I pulled up prices from Amazon to show them you guys mark up 3x more which is pretty ridiculous. I’m a local business owner myself so I understand a little bit of a markup, but don’t be extremely rude to me about the situation, and then tell me when we run out of business it’s because of you, because you want to shop on amazon instead.
