So I booked through Expedia and was given a price that was reasonable. We have been to the area multiple times and usually try a new place to stay every trip. This place advertises as family friendly and kids stay free. Granted when I reserved the room it was just my wife and I am the kids were going home the day before with their uncle, but life happened and now the kids were staying with us for the night so I went to the front desk to see if there were any rooms with more space and woman at the desk informed there was one. I explained to her my situation and we agreed upon a $45 upcharge to change to the larger room. We had only stepped foot for 5 minutes into our original room so it was exactly as it we found it when we grabbed our stuff and headed to our new room. I went back down to the front desk to pay the additional charge but the front desk woman was now accompanied by a young man and I was informed they would also be charging me an additional amount per child. I didn't agree with that so I simply asked where I could find their policy on minor children. I did find it on their website which stated kids stay free, it also noted that they consider kids to be 15 and under which seemed reasonable. My kids were younger so worries I let them know my children were under the age limit and I was informed it didn't matter I had to pay for them as well. I asked to speak to whom ever had the power to discuss and possibly resolve this. At this point I had been there asking questions and trying to reason with pair but all I got was we didn't make the rules you need to speak with the owner. I let them know I'm happy to do so and apologized for taking up their time. I asked if she needed my debt card for the $45 charge or if they could use what they had on file and she informed me she needed the physical card. The young man left the room and I handed her my visa. I asked her what the amount was going to be and she said don't worry I'm only charging you $33! I thanked her and apologized again for taking up her time and was out the door to do some fishing. I never took the time to speak to the owner as I figured it was just the young man trying to pull a fast one and he wasn't successful...or so I thought. As I get home today I check my statement and to my surprise I wasnt charged $45 or $33 I was charged both? After a phone call I decided this want l wasn't worth wasting any more time but I figured I would share this so those that decide to stay in the future as well as management know what's going on. I requested a $33 refund but was told there was no mistake both charges were correct and no refund would be issued. I guess the $33 was what it cost to have my kids there overnight, as the $45 was for the room upgrade. First time I've ever been charged for my children to stay in my room? Last time I will stay at Arya Blu or any of their sister companies. Change your policy or at a minimum be honest with customers. Hopefully the extra money charged will be put towards improvements on...
Read moreThey are on the beach with their own beach access. Parking is extremely tight and room face the parking lot. There is absolutely no concern for security. They are arrogant and self-righteous whoever the people are they look and dress something like Indian... Bill refused to speak and give dirty looks. And the clincher for me is that I came with a service dog and my retired service dog who is almost 15 years old now. At check and they waved the Pepsi for this reason. I stayed 3 weeks and they only changed my sheets two times. It was in the upper 30s and lower 40s with wind chill and they wouldn't give me a blanket. Despite that I expressed that my room was not being cleaned and nothing was being wiped down to include the shower, the sink, the sheets weren't being changed, the table wasn't being wiped down, the side table wasn't being wiped down.. nobody came to clean my room. An entire week just went by and they did not claim my room. The only time I asked my room not to be clean was for the first 3 days and I made that clear by putting the do not disturb sign as it's supposed to be. And I made it clear when they called me and told me they wanted to clean my room that I would be happy for that. They told me they thought the dogs were in there. I told them very clearly that the dogs are with me all day. We leave between 6:00 and at the very latest about 8:00 a.m. and we come back between 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. every night. The fact that they were obviously discriminating against me made me extremely uncomfortable. It is a federal crime what they did. On top of that, as I recorded it my room every time I exit it in the morning and every time I return in the day, I also recorded them telling me that they refuse to give me my $100 deposit back claiming that the dogs were on the bed, there was a smell. And there was dog hair. I have always taken off the top blankets if a dog is on the bed. However the blankets where they are trained to lay we're always on the floor. So that is interesting to me. But if you're not cleaning and I'm walking around and I'm doing whatever I'm doing yes maybe some hair gets on the bed unless they were spying on me in my room? What's funnier is that they told me that I needed to have them clean the room after 3 days and I said I'm usually expected to clean up myself but I'd appreciate it and so if you will do it then I won't do it. It's disgusting behavior and it's very illegal behavior. It is a federal crime to discriminate in that way. Very little motels everywhere we could have stayed and we tried to say somewhere where I was not provided any amenities but I was charged double the price of those motels because of amenities that they did...

Yes, there's some renovation going on and the hotel/motel is in a sort of liminal state but that ocean view though! There's a lot of future potential.
The rooms were clean and depending on what you pay for, you get your own private balcony overlooking the beach! There's a pool that's well kept and walking just past it is easy access to the beach itself.
Arya is basically half hotel and half motel. The more expensive rooms are accessed through a hallway. The cheaper rooms are accessed directly from the outside.
I initially got the more expensive room and had a great view of the ocean with balcony. Seeing far off ships and even dolphins was pretty cool! This is pretty much what your paying for and this place's main upside.
The location is pretty much a double edge sword and really comes down to your preference. If you want that bustle of Daytona's beachside, this ain't it. You're about a 10-15 minute drive from it all so you'll need your car to enjoy the Daytona nightlife. However, if you're like me and like the more tranquil scene, this place is more for you. It's pretty quiet and there's not as much traffic outside.
There are some negatives. As mentioned, there was renovation going as of July 2022 so if you don't like seeing that, you may not want to come here. There's also a drab white paint job everywhere that gives off the impression that you're in a hospital. There was no cooked breakfast because the place where it was made was under renovation, as well. Instead they offered small blueberry muffins and bananas at the front office. At least they tried. The biggest downside was the parking situation. Arya is shaped like a giant "U" with the parking lot inside that U. The lot is accessed through an underpass. This makes parking for trucks and SUVs a bit of a challenge. I had a smaller coupe and was able to squeeze in a small corner where there was shade and most other cars couldn't fit. It worked out for me but this issue should be something you consider.
Overall, I liked my stay here and although it may not be for everyone, I'd definitely come back and would at least recommend...
