I would normally give this place an easy 4 or 5 star, I shop here all the time, employees are nice and for the most part have the knowledge in the department they are working in. Except for today I had a friend go to this location to get his out of state hunting license and he has not completed a hunter safety course. so I told him to get an apprentice hunting license. There was a huge lack of knowledge, they tried telling him he needed his hunter safety course, (No you don't!) They tried saying it was just for 12 year of age and young (No it is not!) If you are going to support sporting, hunting, and outdoor products then your employees need to know the basic information that is given out in the DNR handbook ever year. This lack of knowledge waisted time and fuel of someone trying to shop at this location. The employees here should go though training and read the DNR handbook if they are going to be selling licenses of any kind, I have included some pictures for those that may be unsure yes some from Google and from the DNR handbook that Is given out ever year with the updated laws and regulations. Know what your talking about before you fill someones head with the wrong...
Read moreGun salesman, older man with glasses. Other employees said he was like a walking dictionary on guns. Mr.Gun dictionary was so rude and condescending. I found a cheaper price on a gun somewhere else and asked if he’d price match. He proceeded to pretend to call the shop I saw it at(which was closed that day) and said “Yeah they already sold that gun so we can’t price match it”. I also saw on his cell phone it was glowing on the Home Screen and not on a call as he held it up to his face. I ended up going back to the store that he pretended to call the following day and bought the gun that he claimed they had already sold. If they got rid of this guy I might consider making my purchases there. I also came in another time with two rifles I wanted to trade it on a new gun. The same sales man was unfortunately the one I had to deal with. What he offered on the two rifles was honestly offensive. I went down to two other gun shops where they offered me $350 more on the two guns than Mr.Gun dictionary over at sportsman’s warehouse. I’d imagine the store would do a lot better if this individual wasn’t employed...
Read moreMy husband and I took a trip to Sportsmans warehouse to purchase a new hand gun. After entering the store we walked back to the gun counter. There was one gentleman being helped, so I had waited my turn. While waiting for someone to help me I was shocked at the number if employees behind the counter talking among themselves. I stood there and continued to wait. After no one had acknowledged me I waited another few minutes. My husband had met me and asked who was helping me, I told him no one. I finally had had enough of all these employees standing around and not helping me. I shouted amongst the group who were busy chit chatting "can I get some help over here!?"..... I am in disbelief that I had to stand there for so long, each member looked at me at one point or another. Is this because I'm a woman looking at guns? Let me be clear, women are gun owners too. We deserve the same respect as another man who walks into that store. Whatever the reason was it was unacceptable. Do better...
