Coborn's Grocery Store — Local services in Otsego

It's a nice store to shop at in-person, but ordering online here has been a nightmare. Yesterday (March 2, 2025) I ordered online from this location, making sure to arrive during the designated pick-up window, but despite arriving at the beginning of the hour, hitting the "I'm here" button, and waiting more than 20 minutes, no one ever came out to deliver my order. 4 hours afterwards, I received two text messages saying "No one is available to bring out your order" and "Your order is complete" despite having never received my order.

Had a similar situation happen a few weeks earlier too on February 6. I got an automated text message saying my order was ready early (see attached screenshot). I decided to come early, but once again no one came out to deliver my order. I had to walk inside. The customer service manager wasn't friendly and seemed angry that I came early. She was also unfamiliar with the "come early if you want" text message, which I found pretty surprising. Shouldn't the manager (or the one running the customer service desk) know this stuff?

All-in-all, this store seems pretty understaffed and not well trained. Even when I have received my order, I have to wait a while (maybe 10 minutes) for someone to come out (and I typically order less than 10 items).

I ended up resolving these issues with Instacart proper, since Coborns doesn't seem to have a full-fledged online ordering department unlike Target or Cub. Please be cautious ordering online from here; I don't think this store is properly equipped for...

My wife recently (an hour ago) went in for the first time and was buying some groceries. Went to the register and rang up the stuff and when she gave her the phone number to see if we were members it started spinning into a loop an would not respond. Some lady came over to help and couldn’t. She left and cam back at least 15 min later and said that we had to ring up the groceries. They we all bagged up already. And it took 15 min to come back with that response? She just left. Nobody said anything to her It’s really disappointing for a new store, much less Coborns. We were so exited for the store to open, then get this kind of service? We will not shop there, nor will anyone we know after they hear of your customer service. Target does a better job at...

The Coborn’s in Otsego is smaller than most, so selection is more limited. It’s also a newer store with a different layout, so those familiar with other Coborn’s may find themselves spending a lot of extra time trying to location items on the shelves. It’s too bad their mobile app cannot assist with finding products in store.

All that said, the meat department is excellent, I buy most my meat at Coborn’s... Do yourself a favor and drive across the road from Target to Coborn’s for your meat shopping. Produce - also very excellent. The rest of the store is accommodating for most needs but again with a limited selection but quality product.
