On May 14 after paying a 75% down payment in advance for 3 sensors to be added to my alarm system - which Bravas had installed and was monitoring for several years - my security system was updated...or so I thought. The next day about 5:30 pm while away from my home, I was notified by the alarm monitoring station that my alarm was going off so the police had been called. Three weeks later with no security and after several 'it's fixed' visits (but wasn't) I attempted to get in touch with Steve and Trent at the KC office by email and text. Crickets. Finally, I called Bravas headquarters but had to leave a message because there was no human answering. Crickets.
It was then I called a local alarm monitoring company, in business for 40 years, Atronic Alarms, who also installs iCTRL which I have and a perfect fit! After my explanation I was connected to "Perry's" (the owner) assistant who after listening to my desperation sent me to his VM. Within 2 hours Perry called me at 6PM on a Friday no less! He and a team were out on the following Tuesday. A completely new system was installed on June 14th. One of the 3 sensors on an inside door was installed wrong. If the alarm was set anyone could have disarmed it if inside. It was corrected by hardwiring on the opposite side. The 'repairs' Bravas said I needed weren't necessary. They obviously didn't know what they were doing.
Awhile ago I received a Bravas Newsletter in an email from their Chief of Staff who had asked in the Bravas newsletter for reviews good or bad. I wrote her back regarding the above nightmare. Her response was very kind and of great concern. I was later refunded the initial down payment I made. I had asked also for a refund of the yearly monitoring fee I made in February but as of yet haven't received it. She told me Trent would be in touch after I offered to give their equipment back but as of now I haven't heard from Trent regarding that or the additional monitoring refund. Crickets again.
My take away...Bravas local just doesn't care about their clients. A home theatre is great but security and safety is at the top of my list for...

I called to have them come and fix a theatre room problem which resulted from another outfit not doing a good job with the component stack and a mess of wires which would make a spaghetti bowl look organized. Trent told me in advance that they'd do their best but wanted me to fully understand how they'd bill me for the time regardless. He was confident they could tackle the problem, but wanted to be explicit about all costs regardless. I appreciated his candor. To my way of thinking, anyone who handles these details with such consideration is most likely the kind of people I want to work with. When Grant showed up (early even!) he went right to work. As we walked to the room, I prepped him about the horrors of what he would see. Arriving to a dark and quiet cave which should have been alight with media, he was unfazed by the dead zone. Upon seeing the component colossus, he diagnosed and began surgery. I left him to do his work. About 30 minutes later he emerged and called me back to the field of surgery. I walked in to the glow of all my screens operating with strong signals and full access to every media source. I was back in the game and it was beautiful! What magic had he summoned? Only this...the ability and confidence of a tech trained to achieve what others cannot. I marveled at the majesty of my man cave (and quietly disparaged the firm I had previously trusted...who will never again set foot in this holy of holies). Actually, that's not quite true, I contacted them multiple times and was always told someone would call me back but nobody ever did. Finally got the guy to give me a quote and set up an appointment. The system was set up incorrectly and does not work. Then they disappeared and I heard nothing for months. I thought they'd gone out of business. I received no invoice or bill of any kind until I got a call one evening months later demanding double what I was quoted.
