HAMU Bakery — Restaurant in Overland Park

Wonderful! Just visited this bakery and man is it good! I'm so glad there is another option within the KC metro area now that offers Asian style bakery. My go to is definitely the Durian Crepe as it isn't super sweet but just right. I also got the Flan Pudding as well and it was also delicious. Definitely will be back to try other products that they offer. All of their items are fresh and looks super inviting. The owner and employees were very friendly and offered up to answer any questions I had. Anyway, try this place if you are looking for another bakery option within the Kansas City area that isn't plain...

The filling in the Coconut Bun and Red Bean Bun were somewhat disappointing. They were super low on sweetness (and others might prefer that, but I like medium level). The red bean filling was chunky, which is unusual because it's traditionally completely mashed/smooth. Also note that the Polo Bun has no filling.

On the plus side, the bread part of the buns were delicious. I also got the Durian Crepe (not like a French crepe) and Snow White. They also were also low on sweetness, but that actually worked really well for these desserts. I'll be back to try...

Absolutely adorable, delicious and fairly priced Taiwanese baked goods. The shop is no frills but very clean. The owner is very sweet and humble, gave me his honest opinions on best selling items and his personal favorites (I recommend the pork floss bun if you love sweet and savory. It is his favorite too!) He continues to make fresh goods throughout the day so there's always something fresh waiting for you. I can't wait to go back earlier in the day so I can try more of a variety! Definitely prefer this spot over big...
