Manke's Outdoor Equipment — Local services in Owatonna

Used to be good. I’ve purchased multiple pieces of equipment from here over the last 15 years. After the last two interactions in-store I will be shopping elsewhere for my outdoor equipment.

When browsing snowblowers earlier this year, I inquired about trading in and was told they no longer do that. No reason given. Disappointing. Not a deal-breaker, but disappointing.

The straw that broke the camel’s back is when I brought a piece of equipment in for repair under a safety recall. I was specifically told by the manufacturer to bring it to Manke’s (an “authorized repair center”) for the repair. When I arrived, I ended up standing around waiting for someone to help. When someone did finally arrive to assist, I was told they no longer dealt with that manufacturer and essentially ‘washed their hands’ of the whole situation. This was despite having the manufacturer’s logo very prominently displayed in their showroom with equipment on display below. Apparently they can’t be bothered to communicate with the manufacturer that they were no longer going to stand behind their products so that people aren’t mistakenly directed to their shop. Manke's Owantana is a nice outdoor equipment shop. They have a good selection of items, chainsaws, Stihl and Echo brand as well as accessories, I recently purchased a new saw, the sales team was helpful and took time to show me various options and offered helpful details. They have a good selection of zero turn mowers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, log machines, tools and supplies. Pricing is reasonable. They have plenty of parking behind shop, and they have on-site...

Bought two brand new 0 turn mower's, last one we bought had 30 hours and started shutting down while mowing. Was taken to Manke’s way too many times, and they could find the problem. Tried to get it replaced and that didn’t happen, couldn’t even get a carb out of them under warranty. It’s at 200 hours still same problem. The sales person hasn’t called me back about maybe trading them in. They’re not better than any other brand, especially the other...
