So here's a little history of how in my opinion this place became a 2 star store to a 5 star store. I been coming here for over 10 years. And back then, Red Apple Fireworks didn't exist, so the only choices were Blackjack, Phantom, and Alien in the Pahrump area. Typically Blackjack store used to always be messy and the prices were unimpressive. So I would usually buy a couple small items here and buy everything else at Alien, and both Alien and Blackjack are owned by 2 brothers.
Fast forward a few years later, Blackjack became a hit or miss. They would sometimes have good items and deals, but by this time Red Apple Fireworks (RAF) came onto the scene. And RAF took everything over like a storm. They made purchasing fireworks so much easier and you would know the price and the effect of the fireworks before purchasing if you took a look at their website. You know how much the case pricing is for all the items. Whereas with Alien and Blackjack, it took me a few years until I even realized they sold items by the case, but this was still during the time RAF did not exist.
So now here's RAF coming out with cool looking products, carrying brands I have never heard of before such as Winda, their own brands, and etc. They offered popcorn and slushies at the entrance, and the store looks immaculate. The prices at RAF was usually much better than Alien or Blackjack, so for many years I would sometimes just completely skip Blackjack and Alien and just buy from RAF. Raf got big to a point where they expanded and bought another warehouse. So now they have a warehouse for buying items at retail and another for wholesale by the case.
However because I did have a few good experiences at Blackjack fireworks, I still tried to come here to see what they got and if anything changed. And this year (2019), in my opinion, they destroyed RAF and Alien. When I first parked here, there were no cars here at all besides the employees. I walked in assuming it was going to be like last time. However immediately I was greeted by a very friendly lady, and I wished I caught her name because her customer service was the best. Blackjack finally showed a good amount of their products at the wholesale case price, and many of them was actually cheaper than Redapple. For instance at the time of writing this review, Beast by firehawk is going for around 77 for a case, whereas Redapple has it for 90 for a case. Did I also forget to mention that Blackjack did not charge tax? So consider that as well because Redapple is charging tax. The lady helping me showed me a ton of videos of the fireworks I was looking at. My only regret was not buying everything from here because I went to Redapple and realized I overpaid and got taxed on top.
So in closing, if you're going out to Pahrump this year for fireworks, please give Blackjack fireworks a chance. The store is clean, the customer service beats all the other stores, the case price is shown in the center of the store for many of their products, you will not get taxed hard like you do at RAF, they now carry Winda and many other new brands, and you will walk out knowing you got your money's worth. I will definitely be back here next year. And if the price, service, and everything else is like how it was this year, I'm buying...
Read moreI know about BlackJack from FB but came on here to see their hours as they change throughout the year. I was kind of surprised to see all the negative reviews when they have a ton of positive ones on their FB page. I was just in there a couple weeks ago and was automatically greeted by a girl named Helen. She told me all the pricing (all of the other stores have the buy 1 get 1-2-3 so I wasn’t too upset about that, plus they give you the option of only buying one or mixing and matching – something not offered by all the rest). They have new product in: SkyBacon, FireHawk, and another one I don’t remember right now. I picked up quite a few of the new ones and some Ninja – didn’t have any duds and the people I picked up for seemed pretty happy. Helen checked me out too and made sure I got my coupon discount that was printed from FB. Really, no complaints. I just wanted to write this because this store has been open for a LONG time and seems to keep improving each year I come down (been coming since ’09). When you try that hard you deserve some sort of recognition and I thought I’d be one to...
Read moreHad color deals like every where else but seemed to be lacking product on the 2 and 3 frees only one real deal I seen there but wanted to sell your 5+ to give you the deal was kinda pricey compared to every where else (except phantom I won't be back to phantom...) Maybe you could Haggle with them i didn't try. But I was pleased with red Apple and area 51 65$ for mortar kits ( good ones and if you buy four they knock off another 30% on each box!) that black Jack wanted 120+ for each so it's not like it's a small difference that's a big 💰 difference. And I liked areas 51s mix n match free color tags definitely felt like I was getting my money worth.. Now to see how good the fireworks are. Nice staff though I'm sure they could only do so much being a smaller local mom n pop store I just...
