Its very calm and I like the bartenders as well as the waitresses, but the security are a bit inconsiderate, I say that because last time I went to play on the slot machines an elderly lady was behind me and my friend to which I am not sure if she was there before we arrived but anyways we hear a loud smack on the ground and it turned out the elderly lady was on the floor so me and my friend immediately went to help her and when she was up she kindly thanked us while leaning on her cane saying that the chair was faulty and I swapped it for the chair next to her from a vacant slot machine, well she indeed was very correct about the chair because I checked it and it had an uncomfortable limp causing it to rock side to side just with the simple shuffle of my weight without even leaning hard on the chair. Then a security passed by and I called to her so she walked back to where I was playing on the slot machines and I let her know about the situation that had just happened and the only thing she did was lift an eyebrow, walked to the faulty chair and with her hand pushed it then the chair tip-toed (which is a four legged chair, they're also rigged or solid with a weight that ensures its excellent manufacturing condition but at the bottom of each leg there's a cap-like thing that works similar to a refrigerators feet, by twisting it like a plastic bottle cap it is possible to level the chair.) then the security said that it was ok and it had nothing wrong and turned to look at the elderly lady raising an eyebrow to which the elderly lady didn't even see because she was very concentrated in her slot machine, then the security turned around and resumed walking slowly the way she was heading before I stopped her and as I felt she was scalding me alive with her eyes she only murmured very quickly "thank you" and kept going her way. The securities are very predigest in the silent but penetrating eyes saying "I am watching your every move and I'll be stalking you from the other side of the casino" just because my clothes is dirty it doesn't mean I am a burglar, no, it means that I just got off work and I stopped to play for a little while and the securities should be thankful that people go and gamble or have a drink at the bar and they should quit harassing people with their eyes, there's other ways to observe people without menacingly...
Read moreThis place was terrible!!! I am mostly writing as a diner for the Calico Cafe & Buffet. First of all there was no buffet for some reason despite the sign so we decided to just eat at the cafe. Service was super slow, the waitress made us wait 20 mins just to take our order & what was really irritating was that twice I saw her about to make her way to our table to take it but this other group kept stopping her & she'd disappear to the back for a long time to get their drinks & other things. When she finally got to us it took another 40mins for our food to come out. I ordered bbq chicken with onion rings & Cajun fries. But she gave me a rotisserie with mashed potatoes, when I told her it was wrong she blamed the chef & ran back to the kitchen. Then she comes out with my correct order BUT the bbq chicken was the same rotisserie chicken she tried to give me before she just gave me a cup of bbq sauce....wth I was expecting it to be cooked on or maybe they were just too lazy after getting my order wrong in the first place...and the Cajun fries were really curly fries. The food was subpar it tasted like something I could have gotten from the supermarket. My friend got prime rib & he said it was the worst meal he ever had. For $10 a dish I excepted A LOT better! The waitress didn't come around often to refill our drinks either & I thought gave us our check way too early considering we had to wait an hour to get our food. I will never come back here I should have just...
Read moreI’ve been going to Pahrump for an annual golf trip for 16 years. I stay at the Pahrump Nugget but usually end up at Gold Town to play slots when I’m not on the course. COVID has been a terrible thing for all businesses but has been especially hard on places like Pahrump that don’t get the kind of traffic that Las Vegas enjoys. However, the staff at Gold Town are always friendly and inviting despite the hardship. I was there from 10/7 to 10/10 and had a great time at Gold Town like always. Even though staffing is a problem, the employees there are great. The pizza is really good and the cafe has a great fish and chips (please bring back the shrimp dinner!). The bar staff are the best! While playing video poker at the bar, I always got the best service. I’d like to especially call out Marci, the hardest working bartender/cocktail waitress/jokester in the place. She is non-stop making sure everyone has a fresh drink and a smile on their face. I’m looking forward to...
