Stayed here for six nights while visiting Death Valley National Park after flying into Vegas.
First, the hotel itself - the rooms are large and new, well maintained. The showers were hot and water pressure great, though the tub faucet did whistle like a kettle (I don't know how else to describe the sound). The daily room cleaning was impeccable each time, and the daily continental breakfast (included) can't be beat - eggs, omelets, bacon, pancakes, Chobani yogurt, muffins, toast, juices, cinnamon buns, etc, etc, all hot and fresh with the most delightful staff attending so things never ran out, even though the hotel was packed during Christmas time. There is a pool which we did not use.
Check in and check out were both fast and efficient with no wait, even with arriving around midnight.
It is true that you will hear the people above and to the sides of you. I am a light sleeper and was fine with ear plugs - it was all families staying when we were there, so no loud parties, just very audible voices and walking.
On the plus side, though, they have black out curtains that truly block the desert sun. I appreciated that, as I really need darkness to sleep.
Next, if you're like I was and reading reviews to help decide on a homebase for visiting Death Valley, know that it is at least a one hour drive over mountains to the nearest park attraction, and two hours to the northern parts of the park. It's also one hour to Vegas. I do think Pahrump and this Holiday Inn Express were the best choice for our trip, as we preferred having modern amenities, and lots of retail (Chipotle, excellent Thai food, Mexican, Starbucks, Albertsons, Walmart, etc, all within 3 min drive of hotel), and don't mind driving. But we did put 1200 miles on our rental in our 6 days there, just driving to and through Death Valley and one trip to Vegas, so keep that in mind if that is not your thing. There are closer places - Shoshone, Beatty, Tecopa, Furnace Creek, Stovepipe Wells - but Pahrump seems to be the closest on the Vegas side of the park that is an...
Read moreWow! 10/10 would recommend. Note: I’m picky when it comes to booking hotels due to their (lack of) cleanliness and welcoming staff.
I’m on a cross country roadtrip from Massachusetts and booked multiple hotels and this one is by far the BEST one I’ve been to on this trip and previous trips for this price range ($150-$200 a night for the week of Christmas, I imagine is a bit lower if it wasn’t around Christmas Day). I stayed for a total of 4 nights, originally booked 2 nights with two queen beds and then decided to stay and visit Death Valley more so I booked another two nights but with one king bed as it was a little cheaper, the gentleman at the reception desk made the room switch a breeze.
All reception staff were welcoming and nice, as well as the two gentlemen that prepare the breakfast. The woman and gentlemen that I checked in/out with were kind and welcoming. One thing that I did notice on the first/second day the two gentlemen were very attentive to the guests needs in the breakfast area and always were in a good mood and willing to offer assistance or just say hello. If you looked like you were looking for something during breakfast, the gentlemen would ask within literal seconds if you need help finding something. All staff are very very welcoming.
The hotel common areas, hallways and common furniture were clean and seemed to be recently updated, or at least were not outdated.
The hotel rooms seem to be updated as well with usb charger ports and plugs near the nightstand and desk as well as newer TV and furniture. The room and bathroom were very clean as well.
Nothing is this hotel seemed to be outdated or in need of repair. Everything functioned and worked properly.
Next time I visit Death Valley, this place will have my money cause I literally have no complaints.
Thanks for running a great hotel and all the hard work put in by all your staff as it made my visit to Pahrump and Death Valley that much better! See you next time!
Oh and the ruins photo is of...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn at Pahrump, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for a wonderful stay.
The cleanliness of the hotel was and is always nice. The lobby, common areas, and my room were all immaculate, which immediately put me at ease, especially in today's times. The attention to detail in maintaining a spotless environment did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated.
My room was spacious, well-appointed, and tastefully decorated. The comfortable bed and quality linens made for a restful night's sleep, and the room's overall ambiance was inviting and cozy. The addition of modern amenities like a flat-screen TV, coffee maker, and a well-lit work desk ensured that all my needs were met.
The hotel's staff deserves special mention for their exceptional hospitality. They were consistently friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any request or inquiry. Whether it was providing local recommendations or ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident.
One of the standout features of this hotel was the dining experience. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with a variety of options to suit every palate.
The Holiday Inn Pahrump's location was also a plus, as it provided easy access to nearby attractions and activities in the area. Whether I was exploring the nearby wineries, spending time with family, or simply taking in the beautiful surroundings, this hotel served as an ideal home base.
