I do not live in Palatka; I was there briefly on business with my husband. While he was in a meeting, I decided to explore some local shops on St. Johns Avenue. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of visiting a store called Deputy's Attic.
Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the unpleasant odor and the overall condition of the store. It was overcrowded, disorganized, and unclean—difficult to navigate and uninviting. However, the most disturbing aspect of my visit was the behavior of the owner, Sam.
During my time in the store, I witnessed Sam aggressively confront and berate one of his vendors in a deeply unprofessional and personal manner. He raised his voice, got into the vendor’s personal space, and launched into what appeared to be a toxic, gossipy tirade aimed at a third party—presumably the vendor’s wife or business partner. His comments were inappropriate, unfounded, and had no place in a business environment.
What was most troubling was the level of hostility and lack of professionalism Sam displayed. Rather than address any legitimate business concerns, he seemed more focused on spreading rumors and personal insults. When questioned by the vendor, he could not provide any specifics or justification for his claims—only more vague, inflammatory accusations.
As a customer and an observer, I found the interaction deeply unsettling. No business owner should treat their partners or colleagues this way, especially in front of patrons. It reflects extremely poorly not only on Sam as a person, but also on the business he runs.
Based on my experience, I will never return to Deputy's Attic, and I strongly discourage others from visiting. This store, in its current state, is unwelcoming and managed in a manner that is both unprofessional and...

Read moreI stopped in a while ago to buy some things and loved the wide variety of items available. I spoke with a gentleman this past summer about consigning some vintage and antique pieces of my mother's. He had mentioned that a lady would reach out to me, but I can't remember her name. I haven't heard anything yet, and I'm wondering if someone could get in touch with me about a space at the...
