I have been coming to Palatka for over 55 years to visit my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. I have seen changes in Palatka, and I've been to many of the hotels in Palatka. By far the Hotel Hampton is the best place to stay. you cant find a 4.5 star. You might find a 2,3, or even 4 but not that is on the water with a view of the river foot steps away from restraints, bars and historical areas. it was REALY REALY relaxing and the staff was very nice, attentive and knowledgeable about the new things were to eat in the area. The BEDS OMG were so comfortable not hard as a rock, the Pillows were super comfortable blankets and clean and soft I slept so well I wanted to stay another night or take that bed home with me lol. A/C kept the room so cool when the Florida heat at its hottest. Now I also have been in the Hotel industry for 24 years the last 8 years in management at luxury 5 star resorts. There is a difference in feeling of a Hotel with Employee's that do the minimum or be fake just to get a paycheck and a hole staff that love there job and want to put a 100% into there daily costumer service when you work in the Hospitality field you can tell when its a routine to natural everyday work etiquette. there's a rule in the industry that when you have a visitor with in 10 feet from you you always greet them. The three people Katie was the Hotel Receptionist ( front desk). I was on the phone with her in a frantic storm wondering if we were going to make it up there or not, If I was going to loose out on the money for the reservation because it was the day of. My truck broke down and the part did get her in time but it was the wrong part and my reservation for the rental was lost the day of our arrival . She took personal control told me she would call me back. She called her manager on the phone got the answer and called me back in 15 minutes. If we were not able to make it they would cancel the reservation and return the money on hold. She also did a follow up before the shift change to make sure we still ok. We made it to the Hotel. Christy the next shift Hotel Receptionist. Took care of us when we checked in. She was very knowledgeable when we needed a place to eat and we needed two more towels and was able to get two container's of conditioner till tomorrow to refill the conditioner bottle. In the morning we were met by Theresa housekeeping manager she was very delightful. the food was great and the area was also relaxing i will be returning to this hotel in the near and future CONGRADULATIONS on a well put together staff and hotel. from Joe and...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I am planning my wedding for March of 2023 in palatka. We found a nice barn venue and this hotel was one of the ones the venue recommended for a wedding block as it is the closest. I will be telling the venue manager to remove them from any future recommendations based on my experience. I called the Hampton Inn in January 2022 and spoke to the manager who was AMAZING very helpful gave me information I needed but said I had to call back once I was a year out because the books weren’t open yet. Once we hit a year out In March 2022 I started calling the Hampton inn to put in the wedding block. I called once a week for 3 weeks and continued to get the same feedback from the front desk they had a new manager, she’s sick, she’s not in, we’ll take your information and give it to her. I finally was in palatka in March doing some wedding planning and stayed at the Hampton inn. I told the front desk again about my experience trying to put in a wedding block and how nobody has gotten back to me. The front desk took down my information again and said the new manager would call me. Another couple weeks went by and nothing from this manager so I looked for an email address online. I sent a short simple email just trying to put in a wedding block and if someone could call me. The new manager Alicia Perry emails me back saying there are no blocks available for March it is their busiest month. I’m not looking for a discounted rate just to hold rooms for our family who is traveling for our wedding I obviously was upset so I called the hotel and spoke to someone at the front desk and told her the whole story from the first manager telling me yes it’s fine and now Alicia can’t even pick up the phone and return my phone calls she just fired off an email and did not care to even talk or return my calls from weeks ago. The front desk said there Is nothing she can do and they can’t put a wedding block in for me. Horrible customer service the absolute worst part of planning my wedding so far has been dealing with the Hampton inn. I will tell everyone not to stay there as well as the venue to remove them from recommendations. Terrible experience and customer service from this manager Alicia....
Read moreDear Smita Patel,
I am writing this review to you regarding my four week stay at the Hampton Inn in Palatka.
Your staff from the front desk to housekeeping are the greatest. Lee, Beverly, Xioara, Heather, Theresa, Donna, Rhonda, and other outstanding staff members are very courteous, respectful, caring and accommodating. I applaud them for their services during my existence at the Hampton Inn.
I have frequented elite establishments in high end resorts in the past and never experienced staff members who treated me like family.
Each and every staff member at your hotel went above and beyond their job responsibilities. My observations of handling guest services during the Ian hurricane; witnessing Lee extracting water spillage coming into the hotel windows, Theresa and her staff gathering pool equipment into the hotel so items would not be damaged by the wind, Bonnie and Rhonda serving guests a great breakfast and having coffee ready for early risers.
Lee and Theresa are fantastic. Lee works third shift, she handles intoxicated guests with compassion and politeness even when the guest is rudely offensive. She has the coffee stand ready for guests who have to be at work by five/six in the morning. Theresa is the Housekeeping Manager, she makes sure guests have a pleasant experience at the hotel. She does the landscaping, power washing, goes from floor to floor making sure every housekeeping duty is done correctly. Beverly was so thoughtful to let me use her dog ramp for my fur grand-babies. Such kindness and caring graciousness. I will miss our conversations regarding our pets. Beverly, you have a heart of gold taking care of hospice dogs. Your one in a million. God Bless. Bucky and Brutus will miss their daily hugs from you. They loved the boxes!
Please share this email for all your employees to read, for they ALL need accreditation, a big thank you for their services, and acknowledgment their worth for a job well done.
Until we meet again my Hampton Inn family. God bless each one of you.
Sincerely
Susan Benefield (Hawkins) Room 102
P.S. Maui, Buckey and Brutus will miss you too and thank you for fantastic service. Bucky and Brutus will miss their daily hugs...
