George is so friendly and I would highly recommend bringing your items for repair, alteration, and everything else that you could possible think of with your shoes and leather items. I recently bought a a pair of designer sandals that I wanted to protect the bottom. I tend to drag me feet when I walk so having an extra layer at the bottom of my shoe means I get to wear them more comfortably and for years to come. I really wanted to wear these for an event so I decided to drop in on a Saturday morning to see if he would be able to help me out with a same day service. Without hesitation, he agreed and started picking out colors of the bottom with me. During the time I was at the store, I witnessed tons of customers going in and out and every single customer was greeted and serviced without having to wait. Even though he's the only person. at the store, he made sure every customer was taken care. I knew he had an event to attend that day (congrats to his daughter for academic excellence achievement) but he did not rush to get my shoes done. The bottom was a shade or two off so he even painted the sides so you wouldn't notice the work I had done. He took his time to perfect and the shoes came out beautifully!! Highly recommend Maksoud's shop!
I should have taken the photos prior to wearing the shoes but as you can see, I was clearly excited to wear them as soon as I...
Read moreDon't trust Google reviews. A week ago, I requested a replacement for the zipper and handle of my Gucci bag, and he charged $300 for the repair fee and asked for a $100 deposit. The price was more expensive than I expected, but if they were asking for that much money, they must have been capable, and I was willing to accept it, believing the 5-star rating on Google reviews.Today, there were no parking spaces on Broad Avenue, so my husband double parked and waited for me, so I quickly picked up my bag and left, so I didn't have time to look closely. All I asked was that the new zipper be oiled because it wasn't smooth. When I got home and looked closely, I saw that the stitching was messy and the stitching was too rough and unattractive. On the contrary, he made my bag even more cheap and I was so disappointed that I would never be able to carry that bag with me again. I think he is asking too high a price for his skills. If you want the bag you love repaired, I recommend taking it to the store. I will never go here again and I hope there is no...
Read moreI usually go to Leather Spa but wanted to try someone closer to home, and I was not disappointed! Mr. Maksoud brought life back into three pair of boots for me, doing it all for less than $200, which I think is reasonable given the required skill & energy to refresh winter boots. Specifically my Swedish Hasbeen winter boots that I’d broken a hole into the inner heel. I didn’t want to throw them away but they were in BAD shape. I was almost embarrassed to bring them, as I’d tried to fix them once before and the patch didn’t hold. Mr. Maksoud not only re-patched, but he relined the fleece inside the boot so it wouldn’t be bald, added a decorative element on the exterior to match the original design, and these boots look great again! I had to post to show the work(I wish I had taken a before image) but you can see how close the repaired boot looks to the one that wasn’t damaged. I won’t be going anywhere else for shoe repair. Thank you...
