EoS Fitness Review – A Disappointing First Impression
Why First Impressions Matter in Fitness As a professional who evaluates fitness centers not just for my own use but also for clients and colleagues, I pay close attention to facility management, culture, and overall vibe. These intangibles are often more important than just the equipment or square footage.
In this case, the energy was transactional, not welcoming. The message felt more like:
“Here’s our big, high-tech gym. Sign up now if you want to use it.” Rather than: “Try our state-of-the-art facility — we believe you’ll love it so much you won’t want to leave.”
Had I been allowed to train freely, I may have discovered aspects worth praising and recommending. Instead, what stood out was a lack of trust in the product and the customer.
Staff: ★★★☆☆ There’s no shortage of staff at EoS — in fact, it feels overstaffed, with 20 to 30 employees gathered near the front entrance. The atmosphere resembles more of a fraternity initiation than a welcoming fitness community.
The representative assigned to me was knowledgeable about the facility, clearly rehearsed in the sales bullet points. But when it came to actual fitness expertise, there was little depth. He didn’t ask my name or use it even once — a basic sales rule. If you want to sell something, learn the person’s name and use it. The whole interaction felt impersonal and scripted, not intentional or engaged.
Facility: ★★★★☆ Based solely on the tour — since I wasn’t allowed to use the 7-day pass ( because... and I quote... I "don't live close enough and therefore probably wouldn't sign up for a membership." )— I can say the gym is visually stunning and technologically advanced. However, it suffers from a lack of purposeful flow and design. There’s no intuitive transition from cardio to strength training, to recovery or open space. It feels like an equipment showroom rather than a thoughtfully planned training facility.
Most troubling was that I didn’t see a single member using the advanced tech features, despite clearly paying for them. Why? No guidance. With so many staff stationed at the front desk, it would make more sense to reassign them throughout the gym to help users fully engage with the equipment — and, by extension, their goals.
Sales Experience: ★★☆☆☆ The sales process was complicated, impersonal, and unnecessarily intense. While I appreciated the thorough tour, I never felt a connection to either the guide or the facility. The energy wasn’t “come see what we offer,” it was “join now or move on.” For a gym that prides itself on being accessible and cutting-edge, this approach felt dated and transactional.
Overall Atmosphere: ★★★☆☆ This is likely a great gym for someone who wants to brag about the amenities of their membership. It’s flashy, high-tech, and photogenic. But if you’re someone who values warmth, culture, and community, it falls short. There’s a corporate sheen to everything that keeps it from feeling like a place you truly belong.
Value for Money: ★★★★☆ To be fair, the pricing isn’t outrageous. In fact, EoS seems to have landed on a smart strategy: offer a premium-looking product at a reasonable price. For the area — which includes a solid middle-to-upper-class demographic — it’s a bargain for what’s physically offered. However, price alone doesn’t define value; the overall experience has to match.
Final Verdict EoS Fitness is clean, expansive, and impressively equipped. There are heavy weights for serious lifting, cardio machines galore, and plenty of tools for both beginners and experienced athletes. On paper, it checks all the boxes.
But in reality, it’s missing something essential:
Personality.
Hospitality.
A cohesive, guided user experience.
The staff — while abundant — feel misplaced, undertrained, and too impersonal to be the face of such a high-profile facility. It’s not a bad gym — not at all. But it’s not the kind of place that makes you feel seen, inspired, or motivated to return.
And in fitness,...
Read moreUpdated review: an interaction with Alexandra Smiley today brought my review from three stars to five. When I first joined, the kids acting out of control, the tripods and people just being obnoxious were driving me nuts and I almost canceled my membership. Today I saw someone constantly going around and enforcing the rules of the gym and making it the workout environment they described when I joined. Thank you, Alexandria for your hard work and improving my experience and everyone else’s at this gym. While everyone else is busy signing up memberships and not paying attention to the floor, Alexandria is on the floor doing the not so fun stuff to uphold a positive image of the gym and we appreciate it.
PS. If she’s not the manager, she should be!
Previous review: If you want to exercise at a really shiny state-of-the-art daycare, this is the place. They’re too busy signing people up for the gym and they’re not spending time on the floor making sure everything’s running smooth. Yesterday one of the recovery massage chairs was broken and there was some entitled little kid in the chair about to use it for a second time in a row when there was a line of people waiting for the chairs. In the cold plunge, you’ve got young kids, yelling, and jumping in and out like it’s rapids waterpark. If you think you can relax in the sauna think again the one in the men’s locker room is out of order and the infrared sauna is guaranteed to have some teenage girl on her phone talking incredibly loud. they claim that they don’t allow selfie sticks and tripods, but I see one every day in the way of stuff. Hopefully it changes or maybe that’s just what you get for nine dollars a month. The gym itself is beautiful, but it’s always packed so I think they can take a break from signing people up and pay attention to what’s going on in the gym. I may have paid twice as much of my other Gym, but at least there was respect amongst the patrons. keeping both memberships for now because I’m pretty skeptical at this point of the future. Seems like they’re more focused on the numbers then...
Read moreCOPS WERE CALLED During our visits to this gym, my family and I experienced repeated instances of unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from the front desk staff, with the exception of one employee, Bryan, who was courteous and helpful despite the fact that he LIED and said he did not know my family had a guest (he was the one who checked the guest in, he told his manager he didn’t know the guest was my families which was a lie because he asked if he was our guest…)
On our first visit, a female staff member spoke to us rudely regarding the requirement to take a photo, which led us to leave and decide not to return. On our second visit, Bryan assisted us, and mentioned we are ALLOWED to go to this gym only for today but after we can’t return because we don’t have a specific membership. my family said we do not mind leaving…but he said no it’s okay we can stay. but shortly afterward, another staff member—WILL, the assistant manager-addressed my aunt in a rude and demanding manner, insisting she come to the front desk immediately. His tone and approach were uncalled for, and he ultimately threatened to call the police, which he then proceeded to do.
When the officers arrived, this staff member gave them a misleading account of the situation, claiming that my aunt was being rude, confrontational, and disrespectful—none of which was true. One of the responding officers also acted unprofessionally, repeatedly insisting that my aunt step outside. She explained multiple times that her child, a minor, was inside the gym, and she would not leave until she ensured her child was with her. Only after repeating this several times did the officer acknowledge her concern.
While outside, my aunt allowed the officer to speak, but when she attempted to explain her side, he continually interrupted and spoke over her in a dismissive manner.
Overall, the front desk staff demonstrated a lack of professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Based on this experience, I cannot...
