Petco as a company provides some of the worste customer service you will ever experience at any retail store. As a pet parent and a business owner myself I recommend going to Petsmart or even Pet Supplies Plus for all your purchases. I try to avoid shopping at Petco unless I have to get something specific that only they sell. Just this year in the first 2 quarters I've spent over $10,000 at Petsmart on over 100 visits and have never had anything but a positive experience. In comparison my 4 or 5 visits to Petco this year had all ended in bad experiences. Im a business owner, but when I was younger and worked in retail as a manager I was trained that the customer is always right. This is something to this day I paractice and teach my employees. Customer service is everything if you want to have repeat business. Also, an advertised price is the price. Well not at Petco. On my most recent visit to Petco (on 6/2/24 around 5 oclock) an item I selected rang up a different priced then clearly stated by a sign. The cashier agreed with something that was common sense, but she needed a manager to do the price adjustment. At this point before the manager even showed up I knew it would be a problem because of pasts experience. Let me also mention we're only talking about a price difference of less then $5 on a $25 food storage jar. Plus I have $70 worth of food and toys I'm buying. So of course when the manager finally showed up after a 5 minute wait she felt it necessary to ignore a large sign which clearly stated the price and would rather void the item then sell it to me at tge clearly advertised price. I received no explanation and after a couple of grunts and keystrokes on the register she left. She didn't even consider helping to poor cashier who now was alone on the registers with a large line. The thought of opening a reigister or apologizing to the line of upset customers was not an option for her. I always thought that in Florida an advertised price must be honored, but this is not the case at Petco. This is not surprising from a company that charges you 10 cents for a shopping bag. As retail stores like Bed Bath a Beyond close in the area I can't help but wonder how long before Petco with there poor customer service is next. Especially when customers have the option of going to a company like Petsmart who would rather value their customers verses arguing with them. PS. the shopping bags at...
Read moreI brought me Tee cup shitzhu in for grooming like I usually do. However, there was a newer employee that I hadn't seen before check me in and take my dog. I receive a phone call a few hours later telling me I have to come in and get my dog because something happened and they don't know what. So I go to the store and they tell me that my dog "may have had a seizure". May have? Right there I knew something was up. The guy seemed wry nervous about the situation rather than concerned. He states the dog "flipped or something, he's not sure" at the time I didn't think much of it I was just concerned about my dog. However, both employees were acting quite strange in retrospect. When I walked in the back she was shivering wet on top of the sink. So you're telling me my dog had a seizure and you're going to keep her on the top of the sink instead of holding her, drying her off or at least keeping on the ground in case she had another seizure. What an efffing joke! My dog had no problems at the time, she's perfectly healthy, but she was an older dog. Thinking back now after many months, maybe it's been almost a year now, I've come to realize that it definitely was not a seizure. I am in the medical field, so I have some experience with humans in regards to seizures and brain injuries, etc. She's never had another episode "seizure" from what they were explaining. My best guess is that they dropped her on the floor and she had a head injury. When I think back the employees were just so nervous and had no explanation really about the situation. It really gets me angry that I didn't do more at the time, but I was really just concerned about my dog. Over time, my dog has recovered to some degree. Like I said before, she's never had any type of episode anything near that look anything like a seizure. Unfortunately, she's never been the same either. Just beware, that things can happen unbeknownst to you and there are dishonest people out there. I am 100% certain that my dog was dropped. It was probably an accident, but I wish the employees would've been more truthful about...
Read morePetco has become one of our favorite stops—especially for me and my daughter! Every visit is both fun and educational. The store offers a wide variety of pets and pet-related products, and it’s always a joy exploring with my little one.
They have an impressive selection of animals available, including small and large fish, cats up for adoption, and we heard that dogs and puppies will be coming soon. You’ll also find snakes, reptiles (including iguanas—though living in Florida, you might already spot those around!), spiders, ferrets, and colorful parrots like the African Grey and Australian species. They also have adorable pigs and a range of hamsters in different sizes and colors—white, grey, brown, and black.
One of the standout features is their dog training sessions. The trainer is clearly experienced and very professional. It’s great to see such structured and well-handled training happening in-store.
Petco also excels in offering everything your pet might need—from dry, canned, and frozen food to breed-specific and age-appropriate meals. You’ll even find fun dried treats like crunchy insects for a little extra flavor—our daughter finds this both hilarious and fascinating!
The store carries a huge range of pet supplies including toys, utensils in all shapes and colors, cages, leashes, fish tanks, tank decorations (stones, plants, and more), pet dresses, accessories (like bows and clips), and even pet cookies that look like cute baby snacks from a regular grocery store.
You’ll also find beds, brushes, shower supplies, cleaning essentials, and possibly even pet diapers!
One quick note for parents: if you’re visiting with young children, keep an eye out—while many dogs are friendly, not all are comfortable around babies, and some may bark or behave unpredictably.
Overall, Petco is more than just a pet store—it’s an experience we love sharing as a family. The store is clean, well-stocked, and offers something new every...
