Do not trust them to frame anything you can't easily replace. First something happened with the order on their end and they didn't even have what they needed by the approx due date (weeks ago) and had to call me to tell me. Told me as if they were doing me a favor, they said they "didn't like the matte so ordered a new one." Now, the week of Christmas/husband's birthday they call to tell me they ruined the art (which was a gift). They did not use strong enough adhesive to hold the foam board to the matte board resulting in a vintage map falling onto another vintage map in the frame leaving two long strips of tape all the way across the face of the map. Then, they tried to pull the taped map off the other map and tore the face of the map. Totally ruined the irreplaceable vintage maps and didn't give a rats. They handed them back to me with the map faces on the counter, edges ripped, no protection. When I said something, they then put the maps in cardboard. I had originally delivered the maps to them carefully protected with no rips or damage in cardboard and each map in a plastic sleeve. When I dropped off the maps they used gloves to handle them, as if they cared about not ruining them. Michael's corporation claims to be custom framers but have no framing expert they can contact to help them when they screw up or to even apparently teach them what adhesive is appropriate when binding foam board to linen matte board. They made a massive rookie mistake here. Then, they just hand you your ruined art back without an apology. Seriously,...
Read moreI tried returning a few items that I purchased at another location on Okeechobee when speaking with corporate their policy included a receipt investigation and/or showing proof of your Drivers License. Corporate provided me with a case number 07089887. Joseph DeCarlo "Joe" never looked at my Drivers License and in a sense I do feel stereotyped. As a professional and a decent human being I can say that Michaels will never receive a dime from me again. I hosted and decorated 2 events in October and stopped to Michaels to purchase last minute items, I did use the majority of the items and "Assumed" that I could return what was unused. I was denied a receipt investigation and Joseph DeCarlo "Joe" never even attempted to take my Drivers License. Everyone isn't the same, however this was a horrible experience. I hope we both can learn from this. "Joe" violated Michaels policy and somehow obtained the power to deny someone who provided this establishment with business. This was the first and the last time that I'll ever come to this stores location, being that it was convenient and near where I work, I decided to go during my lunch hour to save some time and to bypass traffic. The City of Delray Beach was much more welcoming to receive my business as well as the Okeechobee location. I won't generalize the stores performance as a whole but this experience has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for Michaels. P.S I will forever be a Hobby...
Read moreMichaels hasn’t been a great store in a long time but it was decent enough to visit if the need arose. Last time there was definitely my last time there. The staff at this location was unbearable to deal with. I had a simple return because they gave me the wrong item in my pickup order and wouldn’t take it back at the price I paid because I didn’t have a receipt for it. How could I have a receipt for it if it’s not the item I ordered? It was beyond comprehension. I called corporate to fill them in on the 30 minute terrible ordeal at the location and they said soooo would you like me to fill out a report? At that point, no. Clearly the incompetence was at the corporate level also. Terrible, company with...
