So every once in a while I write a five star review for a business wishing that I was able to award one small business a year with a sixth star review. I've always thought that would be something special we could do. If ever that's the case Golf Alley would be the business I would write that six star review for!
Check it out, I have been to four or five different golf stores here in the Palm Springs area. I bought my wife a used set of golf clubs from another place and I just didn't feel great about them so I didn't buy anything for myself.
After visiting other shops in the area we stopped in and we met two different individuals. One of the two guys was the original owner and the other young man that was helping him I believe is the son of the new owner.
Let's start with the young man, after a handful of questions he looked at me and said and I quote "You're in good hands" he literally listened to everything I had to say and helped me pick out exactly what I wanted. The other guy, the original owner who has a tremendous amount of knowledge in this industry stepped in and also helped us out. The level of experience combined with customer service just doesn't get any better than this.
Last weekend we went to the big giant store here off of Highway 111, I'm11 I'm not going to mention their name but everybody knows who they are. We walked around staring at what they had to offer and no one really helped us out. Then when someone finally did help us they told us to come here And that's exactly what we did.
This place has the best customer service, this place takes their time and listens to exactly what you need and this place has an amazing supply of used and new everything for the game of golf. If you're looking for golf balls, gloves, tees and even used clubs this place has something for you.
All I have to say is that shop is awesome and if you need something please bring your business to the small family run business because not only do they deserve your business but you deserve the best and I'm convinced it doesn't get any...
Read moreUnder new management, Golf Alley changed hands the last time we were here. We are friends of the previous owners and thought the new store was fully stocked unlike the previous store. Four stars earned. We brought in a used Ping Hoofer bag along with a selection of Callaway and Cleveland wedges to sell. The owner looked them over and offered $70 for the bundle. It came out to only $10 a club and bag. I found the exact clubs in the shop selling for $50 and up, which means they buy low and sell high. Owner seems friendly and was willing to give us a price of our well used clubs. First thing was that he only chose the name brand clubs. Wedges are always in question because of the wear and condition of the face. I had to joke about the rustiness of a Callaway 56 degree wedge to him. After getting his offer, I looked around the store and it certainly had a good selection of clubs. Everything from irons to fairway woods, hybrids and drivers. I was hoping to find a new driver and possibly make a deal to trade my bag of clubs with the driver. With the price of M1, M2 drivers, I would have added another $100 or so. I was ok with doing that but my wife didn't like giving up a whole bag of clubs for $70 so that Golf Alley can benefit greatly. Our experience was disappointing so I'm taking away a star. After we left the store, we thought of benefitting the kids instead by donating the clubs and bag to First Tee, located across the street.
Update: I'm sorry the owner felt I threw him under the bus but I came back to edit the review. The store has its pluses, it is well stocked and has club services in the back. He could have budged a bit but he was...

Went in to look for a good starter set for my son. I was pleasantly surprised to find new people. Everyone was on-site for all your golf needs. There's a lot less clutter. The prices were good. And the selection was more refined. Found a nice set of Titleist irons. Will definitely stop in more frequently.
Is this the same place that was once on El Paseo? Never had an issue in all my visits to that store years ago.
Recent visits started off ok. Then the facade wore off quickly. Customer service got worse with each visit. This store needs more help with someone to answer the phone. More help to get items processed for sale. And a part time club fitter. The one guy running this store is doing it all himself apparently. And it's too large a store to do it that way.
The current set up is just to make a quick buck off of tourists & NO REAL HELP TO MAKE YOUR GAME BETTER.
The only thing going for this place is inventory. Tons of clubs. If you don't mind shopping unprocessed items that haven't made it to the sales floor yet because the guy is just trying to get tourist money.
Fyi the guy running the store is super cheap & will knowingly sell you the wrong items. And when you come back to exchange will not...
