My wife and I bought a pair of 14 karat gold hoop earrings for our daughter as a Christmas present. We spent quite a bit of time in the store, talking with the sales lady and decided on a pair of earrings. After they arrived at the store, we were concerned about the durability of the earrings and were assured that if there was an issue, we could exchange them without a problem. Not even a month later the hoops started to stretch and not stay closed. We went back to this store and talk to the lady who sold us the earrings and showed her the issue. Long story short, she offered us no solution or resolution other than they couldn’t help us. We brought to her attention, our concerns during the sale and expectations of the earrings and were guaranteed satisfaction until there was an issue. We paid $400 for these earrings and they didn’t even last 30 days.
(Reply to comment) I guess my frustration is, if they are so durable then how did they get dented from removing them before bed? If yours lasted 30 years then how are they stretched out after less than 30 days? If they are so well made they why only a 15 day warranty? If you strive for our satisfaction then why did you refuse to repair them? I know the easy answer is my daughter abused them or didn’t take care of them but I’m afraid that’s just not it. The look on her face when she opened them on. Christmas morning was priceless. She loved and cherished those earrings. She took them out every night and cleaned them before putting them in her box. They were just a cheap set of jewelry which is why you didn’t want the liability of repairing them and only give them a 15 day warranty. We knew that when they got to your store and took you at your word they would last. I offered to leave them but she assured me no problem, she could get them done while waiting. I no longer take them to Batteries Plus where I had bought lifetime battery replacement from. I found I was going in every few months. Here at Martin's I get over a year or more with each of their batteries.
I also had her inspect all my mother's and grandmother's rings that I have worn since they passed away. She had found out that my grandma's wedding rings diamonds over 75 years old were very loose and one of my personal rings were in dire need of repair. She offered me suggestions with my old wedding ring and showed me how to look up their website and design something with the diamonds and other pieces for my daughters.
She called me the next day with the estimates to fix my 2 rings . She had given me a ballpark but once the jeweler looked at it, most of the prongs around the diamond needed to be repaired. The price I thought was reasonable (under 200$ ) for extensive work to repair family heirlooms is priceless to me.
I had a promise date of Jan 24th. And it must have been only 2/3 days and they were back on my fingers.

I requested at the time that I would like the old mechanisms returned. Two months later my watch was finally ready for pickup but the mechanisms were not returned and I was told they would have to get them from the repair person.
