I have been coming to this restaurant for 15 years now. It used to be amazing. Food was great, prices fair and service was awesome. Last night I went in to place an order, granted, it was busy, the young man at the counter was very nice. I ordered two fried dumpling appetizers, sweet and sour chicken combo, beef and broccoli, pork fried rice and another appetizer of fried wonton. It used to be that with large orders you would get something for free such as wonton soup or steamed dumplings. Not anymore, prices have at least tripled and you get nothing complimentary. My orders of fried dumplings did not come with any dipping sauces that they are supposed to have, which for me made them not even worth eating. The fried wonton was over cooked, might as well have been Doritos. I asked for two packs of crunchy noodles to go with my order and was told that I could have one as a courtesy, but the other would cost a dollar which I would have gladly paid if the last time I ordered take out they weren’t stale. I took the one “complimentary” package and of course they were also stale. ( at least this time I didn’t ruin my meal by putting them in the food before I tried them. When I went in to pick up my order, there was what looked like vomit with chunks of food all over the floor with a wet floor sign smack dab in the middle of it. DISGUSTING! Needless to say I will NEVER go back to that establishment. The rest of the food that tasted great by the way cannot overshadow all the disappointment of the current oversight, management or greediness of this...
Read moreIt's take out chinese food. What on earth do you people expect? Is it the best this New Yorker has ever had...no way..but for the area it is great. I have come here for 7 years. Never once have I found a hair in my food. Never once was anyone who worked there less than polite to me. Never once have they gotten my order wrong. I normally do a walk in, and yes, it can take 15 minutes cause they make the stuff when you order it. I just either sit down and go on my phone or grab some stuff I may need at Publix. I walk in with a smile and say hello before I order...maybe y'all may want to try that instead of barking your order at the people who work there like they are your personal servants and not actual human beings.
Updated 2/2/18. Going from 4 to 5 stars. Yes the item I ordered was not correct (first time in 7 years and it was a special item not on the menu). But I am upping my rating not only cause they fixed it right away but because of the two young men who were manning the front desk. Especially the young man who took my order. They were insanely busy with calls and walk in and they were completely professional, courteous and had genuine smiles on their face. Still the best Chinese food around!!!! (And once I got the correct order...it was DELICIOUS and hit the spot completely!!...
Read moreI have lived near Chung Shing for about 2 years, but due to reviews, I hadn't given it a try. Sadly, I should have stuck with that. I ordered cashew chicken, egg roll, and crab rangoons. I asked for extra sauce on the cashew chicken, and it was dry as a bone. I could have gotten past that, even though disappointed if the taste was there, but it wasn't. It was so bad that I could not handle more than a few bites. The meat had a horrible burned taste to it. The egg roll was a little less than ordinary. It tasted like any other egg roll I could get in the freezer section at the grocery store. I was holding out hope that the crab rangoons would be okay. The flavor on the filling wasn't bad, but the outside was stale and hard. They tasted like they had been cooked, then dropped back in the oil again to get hot.
Other than the politeness of the person I placed the order with, I don't recommend Chung...
