I drove all the way from San Francisco to buy some specialty products to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend who is from Barcelona and I wanted to get him some of his favorite things. They were having a special event in the market, but I was told I could go back there to purchase a few things. Once I entered the market, I was rudely approached and the woman was trying to make me leave. I told her I wanted to buy some things to celebrate my anniversary, then another woman came, and she spoke Spanish to her, and I could understand what she was saying. They could’ve just spoken English in front of me .The second woman took over, was very rude and told me to hurry up and choose what I wanted. That whole experience was very offputting. I have worked in the customer service industry for all of my life and I had never been treated so badly. I actually spent a decent amount of money and would have bought more, but because they were so rude and rushed me out, I only bought...

I had the good fortune to come across this new Spanish market. It is attached to a recently opened outpost of Telefèric Barcelona -- a wonderful restaurant in Barcelona, Spain. It has been a while since I was in Spain and Catalonia, but I've missed the heavenly food and haven't found much of it in our area. Now in one place you can purchase the pimentón dulce, rice, and other ingredients for making a paella. They also have high quality cheeses and meats, wines and sherry, chocolates, and other delicacies. I got a bottle of the Lustau Fino del Puerto (light and dry but I also love sweeter sherry and will surely return for that) and some sliced meats, and a couple of bars of Chocolate Amatller which I much enjoyed while in Barcelona. We went to the restaurant Teleferic Barcelona before reservation time - dinner at 9 - to take a look at this store. It has a lot of products that I remember from when I lived in Spain: olive oils, fine wines, olives, paella pans, rice for paellas, you can order a large, medium and individual pan of paella to pick up there. The staff is very friendly and all the products are high end. I highly recommend this store for little shopping before...
