Dropped my iPad Pro down a flight of stairs a while back and damaged the frame. The lock button on the top right was impacted and inoperable. While the iPad itself was still operable and worked (mostly) as intended, I could not do anything that required use of the top button (locking the screen, shutting down/restarting the iPad, installing apps etc). After dealing with this issue for far too long (honestly believing it just couldn't be fixed) I decided to take it in to see.
I found iFixTech online, and decided to visit. The shop was clean, tidy, fresh and had a nice selection of controllers, phones, cables and other devices for sale. The man at the desk, Alexander, was welcoming, polite and eager to assist.
I explained my issue, and Alexander explored it right away. He determined the repair would be more intensive than originally thought - that it would require a replacement frame and additional labor. He explained the process to me, the general timeline, and the price of the repair. I felt his quote was reasonable, and I appreciated that he allowed me to pay for the repair in two installments.
In no time at all, he ordered a replacement frame for my iPad. I dropped my iPad off during the evening when he called to let me know the frame came in (it came in fast!), and he had it repaired and ready for me to pick back up the next morning! The thing works like a charm, and my happiness cannot be overstated.
Overall, I am incredibly pleased with Alexander's service. I found him to be friendly and professional, and he had my tech fixed in record time. Alexander's expertise and efficiency is 100% worth the price, and I do not regret placing my repair in his hands.
Alex, thank you again for a swift, masterful service!
P.s. to the reader, if your situation is the same as mine (damaged iPad frame) and considering a trade-in instead of a repair: be aware that, even if the iPad itself is still operational, a dented frame automatically drops the trade-in value to $0.00 because it is officially considered "broken" by Apple. Best Buy was quick to turn it down, which immediately eliminated the option of buying a new one. So, in my experience, because only the frame was damaged, taking it to iFixTech turned out to be the best choice. He fixed it right up. It works just like new, and my data...
Read moreSo, this review is basically a revised review of one i had posted a bit earlier. I basically stated that my husband and I went to go get screen protector replacements at this shop. His started lifting immediately and mine is not even the correct size. Ive attached a photo of mine here, in which you can see the protector does not even go to the sides of the phone. Along with this, I cannot use my thumbprint to open or unlock my phone anymore. (More than likely because the protector is not correct.) I originally stated "the staff was friendly". It was only one guy and I said that to be a little bit nice about the whole situation. Its the owner who then replied to my review asking me to take it down because he did not believe I came to his store. He can doubt me all he wants, but I know this is the correct store. I was annoyed by the work, and now even more so because hes basically saying im lying or confused. Neither of which is true. I was disappointed in the work and I only didn't go back to the store because im non confrontational, and I figured I'd just order the correct screen protectors and do it myself when I got the chance. I wrote the review so people would be aware of this work. To the owner, you stated you'd give us replacements, but its been over 30 days and I don't have the receipt anymore. Only the card we used. I would have considered coming back, but now im even more upset by the situation. I'm not the type to get easily upset or leave angry reviews. I was disappointed in the work, and now even more so by you basically trying to get me to take down my review. Please do better...
Read moreMy laptop had an error message that prevented me from accessing. The owner of iFixTech said it needed a new hard drive by merely looking at the message but did not actually test the old one. He charged $180. for a new drive. I still had trouble using the laptop so I took it to the place where I bought it. There I was told my old drive was fine and the error probably had been due to a Windows update issue. For another $115 the tech put my old drive back in, transferred everything where it belonged and securely wiped the new drive. When I went back to iFixTech he would not give me ANY compensation for misdiagnosing the problem and charging for a part that wasn't needed. -----5.16.25 I am giving the owner the benefit of the doubt by saying he must have me confused with another customer because so much of his response is untrue. First of all he never offered another option to installing a new hard drive. I do feel sorry for him since he is going to such lengths to fabricate a story to try and protect his reputation. It seems it would have been wiser to offer me some sort of compensation. Offering 10 or $20 would have been better than the place we are now. So sad....
