Within the first few months of them soft opening, Casey, Amber, and Brandi have truly transformed The Dark Room into something I haven't seen too much of in Vegas.
Their studio space has plenty of natural light. The windows face east, so the sun shines in the morning. But I have shot in the afternoon as well without any additional lighting and plenty of light still fills the space. There are blackout curtains along all the windows in case you'd like to block out the light as well.
What's different than some other natural light Vegas studios is the space itself does use dark, moodier tones like grays and blacks. Hence the name, The Dark Room. The studio has light colored concrete floors, a grayish black chic wainscoting wall, a long black "fun" wallpaper wall, paper roll backdrops, and many other different backdrops. It's a good size space to work in and there are so many seating and props to play and shoot with. They also have a bed for possible boudoir photo sessions. Additionally, there's a separated efficiency kitchen/dressing room space available if needed.
I've shot their several times already since their soft opening. I've shot a maternity session, a creative portrait session, and some holiday mini sessions within the past two months.
Casey, Amber, and Brandi have been very accomadating during my shoots. The booking process is straight forward on their website with the hourly rates. If you book more hours, you get a better deal which is always great! Once you arrive, they will make sure you are familiar with the space and they'll stick around in the office, giving you space to do your work, but available if you need them.
Lastly, location is great. It's near a Wal-Mart, Sprouts, and UNLV which has some great food options around.
I'll definitely be returning to do more photo shoots and projects especially during the unpredictable cold season or the predictable hot season. It's a great Las Vegas photo studio and event space and I can't wait to see what else...
Read moreThe worst experience I’ve ever had. My sister planned her wedding here and was kicked out 2 hours before she was contracted to end. Kasey was our host for the evening and started off micromanaging and not providing precise information to make sure the night went smooth for both the establishment and the bride and groom. Kasey continued to contradict her own rules and when called out about them she went into Karen mode to make out guest seem like thugs because of her misinformation. While Kacy did state no alcohol’s was allowed outside the security guard that was hired per the Dark Room didn’t make it known that open containers aren’t allowed inside of the establishment upon arrival. The bride and maid of honor gave Kacy specific instructions on who would be the point of contact for that day and if any of the rules were broken to alert the maid of honor if the violation. Kacy failed to provide adequate and precise information and that made us loose two hours The bride and Greene will never get back, the bride was so disappointed in how her wedding ended and the only person to blame is to kasey...
Read moreFreaking. Stars. Let me start this by saying exactly what the rating is that this establishment deserves. From the moment you walk in, it’s so inviting. It’s absolutely stunning inside and very spacious. They have a few set up areas and each one gives a different vibe of its own, but lends so much magic to the space. Looking at each set up, you instantly get visions of future photo sessions and potential poses. We did a holiday shoot with Brandi, and let me tell you- the entire session with her was effortless, easy, and warm. The Christmas set up was so perfect, the moment I saw it I just instantly knew these were going to be amazing. These brilliant women created such a wonderful space, it should be shared and utilized by everyone. I cannot wait to use the space again for future shoots and cannot wait to see the Dark Room...
