You guys, I really wanted to like Serenity massage. This is definitely the least expensive massage place in Parker, so I tried to overlook many of the things I’m about to mention.. however..
I have been here several times and each time has gotten progressively worse. My most recent visit will be my last. Honestly awful couples massage experience. The place wreaked of cigarettes (so much for smelling essential oils during the massage..), the woman massaging my partner left in the middle of the massage 3 times (during a THIRTY minute massage) and had her cell phone buzzing right next to his head on the massage table. During our massage, the two people massaging us were having a conversation, which sounded like an argument. This went on for at least a third of our massage. To top it off, they cut the massage short of 30 minutes, which to be honest was probably for the best. Their techniques are highly questionable, and I ended up more sore than when I started, and not the good kind of sore.
This place does not ask you about any medical history or injuries, and English is limited. The guy massaging me thought he was a chiropractor... and I can assure you, he was not. As someone with spinal issues, this is a big no-no for massages. Someone else mentioned them getting dangerously close to your um.. sensitive areas, and I would have to agree with this. Way too much oil, felt like I was being lathered up to be cooked in the oven. Even with a coupon, I feel like we overpaid for what we got. Next time I’ll save up the extra money and go to a place that places more value on cleanliness and...
Read moreI neglected to look at the reviews, which I should have read while trying to find a place for massage. I had many of the same experiences that others have mentioned regarding language barrier, lack of draping etiquette, and awkward stretches that made me feel exposed. First of all, I did not like the fact there was no choice of preference for a male or female therapist when I booked online. I ended up with a male, which I do not prefer. There was no consult before the massage or paperwork to fill out, which was odd. It was extremely difficult to communicate with the therapist throughout the session due to the language barrier. I have had some therapists who did not speak the best English, but we were able to communicate throughout the session as needed. “Free hot stones” were advertised, but they were used in my session for 2-3 minutes. The room was cold, and the table was not heated. There was only a sheet over me, but that was not draped properly to keep me somewhat warm, and I felt exposed. I came to this place because I was in a lot of pain and wasn’t able to get a massage for about a month, which is much less often than my usual regimen. I needed one ASAP, and they had the time and day that I needed. There was some pain relief, but my upper back is bruised due to what seems to be improper techniques used. I do not recommend coming to...
Read moreBooked massages last week for my daughter's birthday today. We went at our appointed time and were told they could only do one of us or we could come back and both get massages. Not really a good way to run a business. We opted to come back, but she had taken off of work for the massage, so were disappointed to have to wait. The massage itself was good, with hot stones included. But know that the doorbell goes off every time the front door opens, and both of us had the phone of our masseuses ring during the massage. There were some weird aspects to the massages as well, as my daughter got her breasts massaged, and bore the full weight of the masseuse when she leaned over to massage her back. But the worst part is that the website lists the price for a 90 minute massage as $80, but the signs at the place say $90. I brought it up and they said that is the old price, and I told them to look at their own website as that is the price on their site, today. They offered to give me a $5 coupon to come back, but I told them we will not be back. They then said it would be $85 per person. They should have just honored the $80 per person rate, as listed on their website, as I did include a generous tip. I felt the need to post a review to warn others. Lots of places for a massage- go...
