If you’ve ever been to Paris I’m sure you will know these patisseries are subpar.. at best… Today will be the last day I come here. The owner was nice to the French Woman in front of me and then skipped greeting me to greet the man behind me in French.
Told me to wait and then came back to take my order and she was not nice or friendly the way she was with the customers in front and behind me.
I usually spend $100-150 each time I come in here despite the absurd price and low quality.
After I was treated this way I won’t be back. In fact I bought way less than usual because of how unfriendly the owner was this time around.
I’m looking into bringing a real Parisian to Castle Rock to start a REAL Patisserie with immaculate cakes on the level of Paris.
You can’t charge $6.59 for a tiny cake that isn’t even to the standards of what people will find in France.
Her staff is nice. That’s all I can say that’s good. The decoration and atmosphere is tacky and not sleek and modern like most Parisian Patisseries.
Perhaps because they...
Read moreI have so many complaints about this place:
It is much too expensive, we paid $50 for 2 sandwiches, 2 tarts and 2 drinks. And the sandwiches only consisted of meat, cheese, butter and bread. The iced chai latte didn't taste like chai at all. One of the tarts we ordered was lemon meringue, but we couldn't taste even a hint of lemon. The interior of the restaurant is old and badly needs a remodel. The condiments on our table were dirty and tasted old and stale. I saved the best/worst for last. There was a long black straight hair in my sandwich. What makes it worse was when I opened the sandwich to see the hair, it was in between two pieces of meat, almost as if it was placed there on purpose. The man in the kitchen definitely didn't have on a hair net. Based on other reviews of this place, I decided not to say anything to avoid getting upset. And I highly doubt I would have been reimbursed for the sandwich. Needless to say, I didn't finish the sandwich, and I will...

I have to start with the cakes and pastries - oh. my. gosh. We ordered a pumpkin pie over Thanksgiving and it was incredibly flavorful and almost creamy - absolutely delicious! The almond pie was also amazing - I didn't want to share.
Their savory pasties are also so, so good - my husband is an avid croque monsieur eater and he said this was the best he's ever had (he's also very French, if that adds to the review at all :)). Their quiches are also very tasty and large enough to serve multiple people, like when having house guests and not wanting to cook breakfast. We ordered a few viennoiseries breakfast boxes over the holidays and every thing we tried was perfect - my favorites were the pain au chocolat and the almond croissant.
As I'm looking over their menu to recall everything I tried, I think it's time to place another order. This is a true European-style bakery and their chefs are top-notch. I highly, highly recommend trying them out -...
