Been going here since it opened and after my last visit it's hard to say if I'll be back. With 4 people behind the counter and only 3 customers in the store, I asked them to show me what ammo they have available for my specific weapon because the isle is just a pile of all types of ammo and I didn't have time to sit there and read the entire inventory to find only ammo for 1 of my guns. Instead the old man and woman he was working with barely looked up at me and just pointed me to an isle.
I explained I wanted them to show me and the response was that they were obviously way to busy for me. There was at least one other person in the back too and it was like 2:30-3 PM on a weekday, it wasn't even busy at all but the employees all were way too busy for a customer.
They hardly looked up at me even though I had already spent several minutes trying to navigate the ammo isle. I know that old guy's been there since it was pretty much opened and I've purchased two or three guns from him directly so I'm really surprised for the disrespect. I guess he didn't realize I can just come on here and put him on blast did he?
I went directly to Murdoch's across the street and they were thrilled to talk to me about ammo and show me exactly everything they have that would work in the specific gun (I'm sorry I purchased from Sportsman's instead) I was shopping for. It took the guy about 1.5 minutes to explain all of it and also tell me about the two types they didn't have that I could possibly find on another day. I can understand why at the same time of day there was easily 10 times more people at this place.
With customer service like that Sportsman's will be joining Gander Mountain soon enough.
With no response from anyone at Sportsman’s for over a year in regards to this experience, I definitely have not and will not be back. Between Murdoch’s and Bass Pro, there no reason. I get way better service need feel appreciated as a shopper at...
Read moreDO NOT RECOMMEND I don't normally write reviews, but this place was so bad, I feel it was necessary. Went in yesterday (Sunday) to look for a gun. They were not busy. Was totally ignored by the white haired gentleman at the counter, finally asked him my questions when he asked my boyfriend if he could help him (though he was 6 feet away and I was directly in front of the clerk) and he answered my questions while looking at my boyfriend. He never once looked at me, though all of my questions. My boyfriend never even said a word to the clerk but kept pointing to me, like stop talking to me and talk to her, as they were not his questions. Very disrespectful. Went back today to give another chance and was treated the same. Again, they were not busy at all. Took in guns to get a quote and waited 15 min, the guy finally came and took them in the back and said he would be back in 5 minutes with a quote. He came back out in 3 minutes and helped another customer who came in after me and then another customer after that. 10 minutes later, I asked another male clerk if I could get my guns so I could leave and he said rudely "Just a minute" and then walked away and never acknowledged me, he also never looked at me. Finally asked a lady that was working there who was pretty casually dressed if she could please get my guns for me. She did and I asked if there was a manager at the store. She said she was the manager. Told her about my awful experience and she said "I'm sorry". Nothing like, that's not right or how we want customers treated. I wasn't impressed. I told her, I would never come back to this store and I would make sure that I shared my experience with everyone. She was like ok. I don't typically get offended that men treat women customers so dismissive, as I feel that is a reflection of the person they are, but ladies, don't waste your time here. I would add, there selections are equally...
Read moreYesterday was a rough day in the store. I was shopping yesterday at the Parker location and was approached by an older gentleman with my friend. He was an older man working there. He greeted us and we said thank you and walked away. He then told us he wouldn’t let us get away that easy. He approached us and started to tell us a joke. Standing there to humor him, we listened to his joke. The joke was not in great taste. As United States Marines, we take suicide very seriously. The joke continued talking about a woman wanting to jump from a bridge. He then talks about a gentleman trying to save this person with a kiss. The joke ended up that the guy trying to save this person was a man and that he kissed a man. I really don’t think it’s appropriate to tell these jokes. I’m going through my own PTSD right now and have hard times to not think about suicidal ideations. Leaving there triggered me. Luckily I did have a VA appointment today and can get help. I hope this doesn’t happen to any other person in this store. I’m in mental distress right now and do not appreciate this unprofessional manner in the store. I will not be returning. Please...
