As a customer and former employee, I can not say enough good things about this store! I never expected to laugh till tears ran down my face on numerous occasions, or have meaningful and deep conversations with compassionate, caring, thoughtful, and humbly genuine supervisors, but deed that's exactly how my employment here went. Eric, Michael, Tess, Angie, Rhonda, and my amazing co-workers, (Tosha, your amazing!) can't possibly understand the positive impact they had on me, at a rather difficult and pivotal period in my life. Thank y'all! As a customer, I love the imperfections of Ollie's, which also kinda shows where I'm mentally at in my life, finding joy in the imperfections. This store isn't perfect and neither are you. There's times it's messy and hectic, lines can be long, and you never know what they will have in stock, however, generally speaking, that line moves rather quickly. No self check outs here, you'll be checked out by someone who truly cares about your experience. The mess and hecticness come and go, and compared to my first shopping experience, the store has done a complete 180 in its cleanliness and organization. You may not find what you seen in the ad, but I promise, you'll find the most odd trinket or that $99 cast iron dutch oven that you've been looking at, for $39, instead. If your looking for a upscale proper and perfect store, go on up the road, but if your wanting to save money, this slightly grungy, unique, yet always humble store, is...
Read moreIf you are someone who loves books I strongly recommend Ollie's. They have one of the best selections of books at fantabulous prices. If you just need some simple bedding this is your place. Sometimes you can find some really just outstanding amazing buys like with things for your yard, garage etc it's kind of like an unorganized Big lots. You can find some real hidden gems in here like we found a Lego book that even online was selling for 20 to $30 and I got it for $3.00. complete with a minfig. I have found just some really nice things I avoid the food like the plague because I'm not a "brand I've never heard of"person.
I think they could focus on being neater and cleaner I mean the shelves are a disaster especially down the HBA aisle. Bathrooms were clean. But I will say this when I was just there there was two creepy guys that were apparently friends of one of the employees and were walking around with her as she did her job and they were so disgustingly obnoxious I just wanted to get home and take a shower. Yes they were that gross spitting in their bottles etc and the touching everything in the comments were just disgusting. She thought it was funny and cute. But other than that on a scale of 1 to 10 I give the Parkersburg...
Read moreI just went into Ollie's in Parkersburg, West Virginia. There was zero social distancing and zero mask enforcement. The store had signs up on all of the entrances stating that masks were required in the store. There were ten customers waiting in line. Out of the ten customers waiting to check out, four had masks on. That included my mother, my partner, and me. Outside of our party, only one other customer had a mask on.
Not only were Ollie's associates not enforcing the mask policy, they weren't wearing masks themselves. Three associates were working the registers. Not a single one had a mask on.
There are over seven million cases of COVID-19 in the United States and over 200,000 deaths. That number rises every day with no end in sight.
Do better, Ollie's. This behavior, especially from your own employees, is...
