I was looking for an honest coin dealer several years back and was calling around to the different dealers in my area and set up a meeting with Dean. Wow, A.) great guy, knowledgeable, witty guy, who was just fun to talk coins with. B.) No pressure sales, he lets you see what he has and all your choice, and he buys in the same manner. He is straight up and I think gives a far better buy and sell price than any of the traditional shops in my neighborhood. I have literally had a hundred different dealings with Dean, and this review is a couple of years long over due. Folks I found and still find him to be honest, straight up with my material, and the material he has to sell, great pricing, both buy and sell, stands by his word always, he has never let me down on any deal we had. Dean has a well rounded knowledge of the coin world and I enjoy the time we get to chatter about some of the pieces and collections we have bought and sold back and fourth. I highly recommend this gentleman. My collection and own knowledge has prospered...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst, I want to give anyone reading this a heads-up that I wish I had. Dean only meets with people via appointment. He is not usually in the office. Call him and set up an appointment if you want to meet with him. That will save you time driving there only to find out heās not there. Should you call him? I think so! Heās a very nice guy and seems pretty fair with the prices he gave me. As the other reviews said, he is patient and goes over each coin. Heās upfront and tells you why itās worth what itās worth or if itās not worth anything other than face value. Did he give me the best price I could get anywhere? I honestly do not know. But he did take his time to explain why he was giving me what he was. I do not feel ripped off. It was a simple way to get rid of a coin collection that someone gave me in an inheritance. I am happy with...

I rejected Deanās offer after he tried to swindle me for less than half the value other shops were offering, and he asked which shops.
As I was leaving Ohio estate coin and jewelry, after a successful sale, I ran into Dean in the parking lot. He was apparently there to purchase items for a client. He tried to justify his offer, by saying his office cost $35 an hour to lease. If you cannot compete with the market, donāt try and blame your poor business decisions on others.
Overall, it was a weird experience. I highly recommend going to a reputable shop that pays based on market prices, not to someone like Dean, who will just figure out how to maximize his...
