To the manager of the Giant Eagle on Snow Road in Parma. My name is Shawn. On Tuesday January 7th I stopped by you store to pick up some fried chicken for Ukrainian Christmas for my family. Once the chicken was inside of my car the smell of its ‘crispy’ fresh breading was simply to much causing me to immediately pull over in the library parking lot in order to take a little ‘nibble’.
Problem is...after 22 years of being a vegan...I finally caved in...and ate the whole order.
When I arrived at my families holiday party I lied and said that you guys where out of chicken for the day.
Unfortunately for me my brother happens to work for the Parma Police as a forensics detective and ran my prints for ‘chicken’ grease.
After coming up positive for vegetable oil that had chicken contaminates in it...he charge me with a party-fowl
Now there making me do the ‘funky-giant-Eagle-chicken’ in front of my entire family
Thanks a lot for serving the best most mouth watering chicken in the city
Cordially your, Shawn ‘bawk...
Read moreI will never set foot in this Giant Eagle ever again. I was there on New Year's Eve when the lines were almost to the back of the store. I waited 30+ minutes in a line that I had to pick without being able to see the front of the store. When I got closer to the front of the line, a member of the management team rudely explained to me that this line was a 12 item or less line and that I would need to go wait in a different line. Based on the size of the sign, the angle of the sign, and the length of the line, it was impossible for me to know this when I entered the line. Eventually an older gentleman next to me was nice enough to swap me spots so that I could check out since he has fewer than 12 items. I was appalled by how I was treated by this staff member, and my experience at this store overall. I will never shop there again, and I hope that sharing this story will encourage others to...
Read moreRecently the store has slid downhill in a couple areas. First of all -- they have an in-store bakery, so is it too much to ask to keep some decent sesame-seed Italian bread on hand? They always used to have this. Now, on the VERY rare occasion they put it out, it's almost entirely lacking in sesame seeds. I talked to the night manager about this and he agreed, but several weeks have went by and no change. Secondly, I went in there on the weekend and they empty the shelves of all the meat and put it in storage well before the store closes. Can't that be done after closing? Also, they usually have decent ground beef but the last two time I bought that supposedly "lean" beef it was gristly. Lastly, what's with the produce department? Tiny little heads of lettuce for around two dollars or more, often rusty in color. Potatoes are way overpriced. Get it together or you're going to go out...
