So where do I start… Let me first say I literally tried everything to like this place. Everything about it sounds good. And it was recommended to me. Like this type of restaurant in this area sounds great. I tried it 3 different times. Something different each time trying to find something I liked. And it just doesn’t deliver. I’m honestly not picky at all and I like all different types of food. The first time I tried an Italian beef and the meat just has absolutely no flavor. You can get roast beef cut at the deli at Walmart that has more flavor. The only thing that gave the sandwich any flavor was the spicy giardiniera. Like if your restaurants staple is supposed to be the Italian beef it has to have more flavor than it did. I’ve talked to other people and they say the same thing. I just recently tried the Philly steak and it was far from what a Philly should be. Same flavorless beef. And huge hunks of undercooked onions. Onions on a Philly should be smaller softer and cooked longer. These were raw and crunchy. Tasted nothing like a Philly, I tried that new authentic cheesesteak place further down Broadview, now that’s a Philly steak. And it’s beyond over priced for the portions. 17 bucks for what looked like a half sandwich and fries. I really tried with this place but it’s just not it. I see the owner gets super butt hurt by bad reviews but sorry dude your food sucks. I don’t get the hype surrounding this place. I think it was just the newness of it. I went in on a Friday at dinner time and it was dead so I think the word that it sucks is spreading around. I don’t see this place lasting much longer.

I came to Au Jus on the recommendation of a local CLE food influencer account, and all I can say is thank God I don't live close to this place or I would be here multiple times every week. The food is extremely high quality, particularly for the price, and the hospitality was unparalleled. I got an Italian beef with spicy giardiniera and provolone, and it was heavenly. The beef was fall-apart tender, and the side of au jus for dipping was the icing on the cake. Flavorful, satisfying, worth the trip on its own. Their menu offers a list of toppings you can add to customize your sandwich, and you can even just get bread and au jus for under 2 bucks. We also ordered sides of fried pickles and onion rings, and the gentleman prepping the food asked if we wanted them extra crispy (um, absolutely!). At under 5 dollars for a massive basket of freshly battered, crispy sides, this place is an absolute steal. We decided to eat-in - which could be tough if it's busy given that their only seating is six stools or so - and the folks behind the counter could not have been friendlier to chat with. They explained their slow roasting and marinating process, and they even offered us complimentary drinks. I cannot speak highly enough of this place, and I'm already planning my second trip in as many weeks. I will gladly be a regular customer here for years to come.

This place is a gem for an Italian beef sandwich, tucked away in a small, unassuming sandwich shop run by a local guy who clearly has a passion for good food. the with the owner, a friendly, down-to-earth guy, chatting with customers and perfecting every order. The Italian beef sandwich is, without a doubt, the star here. Imagine thin slices of tender, juicy beef, slow-cooked to perfection, piled high on a perfect roll! Every bite is packed with flavor—savory. And then there’s the au jus, which is pure magic. The bread soaks it up, giving every bite that perfect balance of awesomeness! You can tell the owner knows his ingredients, and everything is fresh, down to the 2 to 3 different types of peppers that you can put on the sandwich. What really stands out is that you can feel the love in this sandwich. This isn’t fast food; it’s crafted with care, and it’s no wonder this place has a loyal following. If you’re a fan of authentic Italian beef or just appreciate a really well-made sandwich, this spot is a must-try. It opens at noon, and he gets you out fast, prepping 200-300 lbs a day!

BEWARE OF THE OWNER!!! PLEASE TAKE YOUR MONEY TO ANOTHER SMALL BUSINESS THAT WILL APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!! I wouldn't normally do this, but I think the owner and the business deserve it after the awful customer service that I experienced tonight on 5/21/2025. I have been to this place before and the food was good! What brought me in today was a Fox 8 New Day cleveland deal, which I purchased online for 26 dollars and had a use by date of today, 5/21/2025. The owner greeted me at the door and saw I had this new day deal paper in my hand. He started by saying that I'm a really nice guy, but it had a use by date of today, so it really expired yesterday. I said, "That's weird. I've never heard that and never had a problem before." He started saying that he's had to turn away customers all day because he supposedly called the company and they told him not to honor them as of yesterday. I told him, "Okay, I still wanted to order sandwiches, and I was ready to place an order." He didn't want to take my order. He kept going on about how I had 6 months to use it, what would bring me in today. I told him I was from the Eastside 25 minutes away, and he said, "Oh really?? I told him yes. That should have been a compliment. But then he started talking about how he gave 5,000 dollars of food away because of this deal. THAT HE AGREED TOO! It wasn't 5,000...! He kept going on and on. THIS OWNER WAS TAKING HIS DAY OUT ON ME!! He wouldn't stop!!! I said I don't know what you want me to do.""" You want me to leave he said yes, take your coupon and leave, and go ahead and leave a one-star review!!" Mentioning I still paid for this coupon, and it was still valid for the 26 dollars and was good for 5 years, which he even mentioned! Instead of getting into it with him I walked out and called the cops to help me figure out what I was going to do in this situation of the owner telling me to leave and walking away from me without honoring what was legit and what I paid for. He turned off his open sign and turned off the lights before the cops could come. IN SO MANY WAYS THIS IS JUST WRONG! This place does not deserve your business with an owner like him. I don't care what the food tastes like you don't treat repeat customers like this! There are sooo many great independent places around parma go to those! (Like The Original Steaks and Hoagies right down the road) He told me to leave the bad review, and he poked the bear, so here I am, making you aware of his bad mistakes and poor ownership! Go look at my profile, read my reviews!! His response will show his true colors of what kind of...

We absolutely LOVE Au Jus! We've been there 5+ times and plan to go many more. The food tastes incredible and pricing is great! Some of these negative reviews are absurd. They offered corned beef on Saint Patrick's Day but sadly sold out before we had an opportunity to order it later in the day. I'd love to have more items on the menu such as this as their business grows (even if it is a single monthly or weekly limited time item special)! I really want to try the Cuban, but haven't because I can't resist ordering their Italian Beef with Sausage. It's so good I sometimes get a craving and insist we get it for dinner... I will certainly be ordering the Cuban in the future, however! My wife typically goes in to pick up the order while I wait in the car - the food is almost always ready when she walks in and she said the staff is extremely friendly. Also, the sandwiches are a generous size and quite filling on their own, even for dinner (which, I don't typically fill easily).

As far as some suggestions / critiques:

  1. The additional mushrooms and veggies add a lot of moisture that possibly contributed to the soggy sandwich some people have complained about. This is partially because I have a 20+ minute drive to get to the location. I ordered these on the side, and that helped significantly. The staff was happy to accommodate this request.

  2. The lids on the Au Jus sauce containers don't seem to be able to handle the weight/heat if they are stacked 3 high. 2 high seems fine and different more sturdy lids might resolve this completely in the future.

This is a newer business and the owners seem responsive, so the lid issue might even be resolved by now. We did mentioned it last time we ordered and they packed the sauces in a seperate bag and we did not have an issue with the lid breaking. The reason this is an issue is because if the lid breaks sauce might spill in your car or when you take it...

Au Jus has been on my list to try for a while- we’re just never in that part of town. The owner is active on the All Things Food FB page and posts a lot of creative meals. Looks mouth-watering.

We stopped in a couple weeks ago and the front area was packed with happy diners and people waiting for food. I entirely intended on getting an Italian Beef, but they have a Cuban and I can’t resist so….

Our food was hot and fresh ready in an appropriate amount of time. What I mean by that is- nothing seemed microwaved or prepped too early or stale bread, soggy toppings. Nope. They don’t cut corners here. Everything is fresh sliced and top quality ingredients.

Now, my Cuban. I love a Cuban, but I have no idea what an authentic Cuban sandwich is supposed to taste like. I imagine this is the closest, because this was the best I have ever had. I don’t make proclamations like that very often. The roast pork was out of this world. So much flavor and thoughtfulness. Not too overpowering, but offered hints of spice and citrus. Total perfection. Slathered with ham, pickles, melty Swiss cheese…. Yum. The bread was a little large or under filled for the sandwich, but the sub roll was tasty and toasty. I didn’t mind having a few bites of just bread so I could try the au jus that came with husbands sandwich. I absolutely loved this sandwich and have been thinking about it since.

Husband had the large Italian Beef and was shocked it fit his ample appetite. So delicious, with or without the jus.

This meal was worth every cents high-quality ingredients, a creative and skilled chef, hard-working employees make this my favorite recent discovery. Do yourself a...
