I bought a package through Groupon for 10 Wundabar classes. It's a great deal at only $75. They also offer a first class free deal so really, I got 11 classes. If only their regular classes were this cheap...
Wundabar uses the reformer pilates machines. There are exactly twelve machines in this whole place so classes book up fast. They open up registration on the 25th of each month for the following month. They also have a strict cancellation policy. If you don't cancel within 12 hours of class, you lose that class. Also if you pull a no show, you lose the class and they charge you a penalty on top.
The classes will kick your butt. Other than the first class, which I didn't care for the instructor that much, I have left sore each time. They really work your thighs, abs, and arms. You also don't need to wear any shoes or socks for the work out. Everyone works out barefooted.
Parking is all street for this location. There are sometimes parking on Green but I recommend parking on Lake. There's quite a lot of parking in the evenings and weekends. Just make sure you read the sign and pay the appropriate meter if needed. City of Pasadena parking ticket fines...
Read moreI've been coming to Wundabar Pilates for the past few years, and it's truly the only Pilates studio I go to. Every instructor here is fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and always bringing thoughtful guidance and great energy to class.
What sets Wundabar apart is the custom reformer machine designed by the founder. It’s an incredible piece of equipment—more supportive and versatile than traditional Pilates machines. With it, I feel grounded, capable, and strong, rather than like I’m balancing on a delicate branch. The variety of movements keeps both my mind and body engaged, which I really appreciate.
After class, I consistently feel not just stronger, but more spacious and lengthened. It’s been especially helpful for my hip and labrum tear recovery, offering a powerful yet feel-good experience that supports healing and strength.
As someone in my 40s, I also love that many of the women in class are in their 40s and 50s—it’s such a testament to how well this method supports the body through all seasons of life.
Wundabar is a gem of a studio. I highly...
Read moreI've been wanting to start pilates for several years and finally got my start at WundaBar in Pasadena. Hillary was very welcoming and advised me on which classes I might want to take due to my beginner (and not very flexible) status. They offer a free introductory class which I took just to see if I even liked it (which I did). So far, I'm five classes in and have been mixing up classes including the flex class. The vibe is relaxed and the instructors give you pointers to improve your posture to make for a more effective movement. The classes are smaller which I like. The place is clean and relaxing. I already feel like my body is responding in terms of strength and flexibility. Those smaller muscles are finally getting some use. Five...
