Books-A-Million — Local services in Peachtree City

Walked in figuring that I could use the restroom and browse a bit. While walking down the aisle, I glanced at books while periodically looking up around the walls for a bathroom sign. An employee further down the Isle asked "Can I help you find something"? The tone and inflection were not friendly. They gave the distinct impression that I was intruding on someone's day. I assumed I was being paranoid and looked up. Expression was almost hostile. Very bad vibe. I did not start this interaction and was somehow regretting it anyway.

Really my experience was colored by the one interaction with the one employee, but it was the first employee that I had contact with. Everyone else seemed nice, but I felt distinctly unwanted on the first impression.

Don't get me wrong. I don't expect declarations of love for customers. Working retail is hard and it can feel thankless. Customers and co-workers can put you in a really foul mood. I get that, but people are not going to spend money in your store if they're under the impression that you don't want them there. If your day is absolutely awful and you can't manage a facade of civility, then don't go out of your way to engage.

I am deeply saddened that I have to give 2 stars because I really like this place... but today when I went in I felt like my dollar was not valued... I have been coming here for a while and every time the line to check out goes the same way... the lady in front of me left and a guy comes out of nowhere and cuts me in line... I say excuse me I was next and he understood... I asked the cashier if they had a book in stock and she said yes but could she check the guy out first... I was shocked because I was there first and I needed help first and she decides who goes first but if that's the case then they should put a sign up "We decide who goes next " thankfully he gave her permission to help me first or I would still be standing there... unfortunately I will not allow this place to gain another dollar from since it is not as valuable as the guy's behind me... the worst part is he kept telling her to help me first and she just kept asking "Are you...

As a customer we should not walk into a Book Store and the front of the store is displaying a CLEAR MARKETING ADVERTISEMENT for TRUMP and TUCKER CARLSON books as the top selling books. Stephen King was next to the books but not a target to the consumers eyes.

Despite what you as a MANAGER/EMPLOYEE/OWNER political views are…. It is not professional to display a particular political side and not show both. On top of that no one that worked at the book store that saw me browsing stopped by to say hello or ask me if I needed any help. Ironically the few people that walked in after me that looked of an opposite color than myself were helped. These are topics that are always uncomfortable for you to address but not me or others that look like me.

My advice to you is do better. Peachtree city needs to do...
