A pretty good place. It doesn't have as much diversity as other stores, but that's probably due to it being in Hanover. Things are always organized appropriately and have a neat appearance.
A great place for kid clothes, because there's no reason to pay $20 for pants that your kid is going to out-grow in 3 months. Most of the women's shirts are pretty stretched out in the front though, even the smalls.
The girl with the long, dark hair who usually works in the back is a miserable person and I think she needs to take a good, hard look at herself. I have had three interactions with her, and I formally complained once. She has lied to me about "store policies", caused me to almost lose an item I had paid for an hour before hand (the store holds big items that you pay for, for a short period), lied to me about not accepting umbrella strollers, and once stalked me when I was at the donation bin out back and demanded I show her what I was putting in (children's books). She is quite miserable. I've seen her there for 2 years now. I guess she does something valuable for them that they like...
Read moreI have been shopping at Community Aid in Hanover, Selinsgrove and most recently York, PA since they opened. The stores are well organized, clean, and the employees are kind, friendly and helpful. Until recently, I would have said their pricing was fair, but with their recent change to "no discounts for the color of the week," I cannot say that anymore. I am disappointed in this corporate decision that the NEW items are no longer included in the 50% off days. Prices too have gone up considerably, which doesn't make sense either. What a shame....unless there has been a BIG increase in utilities, rent for the buildings and/or hefty employee raises, the inventory in your store is acquired mostly by donation drop-offs and therefore prices should remain low. Changes were also made to their community outreach $$ to non-profits in that they no longer give $$ to non-profits with a low budget. Corporate Community Aid: give back to the community like you used to. We're still here shopping at your store, keeping you...
Read moreA lot of clothes etc but the prices are CRAZY!!!!! THIS was all donated stuff and the mark ups for some not all but some items they ask for almost same as if you were at a real store... how is that helping the community. Be nice if all clothing donated was 1 price per type like shirts 3.00 pants 4.00 jackets 7.00 shoes 10.00 then I would respect them more. I donated a bin of over 300 comic books...they had them priced at 6.00 each... like what!!!! I donated them because I figured they would sell for maybe 0.50 or 1.00 max to help the community..but 6.00 that's some BS....and when I talked to the manager he says they have someone that checks the value .. bs... I collect I know the value... then I donated some TRUE RELIGION....100.00 a pair shorts....semi new...they just don't fit me....they was selling for 8.00 lmao.... they not helping the community they robbing them and pocketing the profits .. worse...
