Weis Markets — Local services in Pennsburg

Been shopping here a long time. I get great sales, store is very clean and produce and meats usually very fresh. My beef is with the staff lately. I’ve been personally offended and profiled by an employee twice now. Tried to exchange a product I bought on the same day for the correct brand same price everything but I threw the receipt out after I paid. The girl was extremely rude to me, gave me an attitude and told me she wouldn’t exchange said product for the correct one at the same price without a receipt and proceeded to tell me to go dig threw their trash can and find my receipt if I wanted to exchange it that bad and then proceeded to walk away from me without giving me my bag and product back. When I followed her and said just give me u bag and product back because I will not dig threw a trash can in a busy super market she then gave me another attitude and said it was on the counter when it wasn’t. She then huffed and puffed as she had to walk back to the register and retrieve my bag from behind the register where she threw it. I then just walked out and said forget it. Two weeks ago my car was scratched up in the parking lot by two shopping carts that someone had pushed into my car. When I asked for a manager no one was available. I had left name and number for manager To call so I could ask about parking lot video so I could file an insurance claim no one got back to me. When I called about it I wAs told no one knew if there were cameras out there and no one could help me to find out. Again I received nothing but an attitude from employees about this matter like I was just an inconvenience. Bet if it was one of their brand new vehicles that happened to they would have cared. Thinking about filing a complaint against the store with corporate office. But I will not be doing my shopping...

I’ve been a customer at Weis for over 10 years and I really feel they do a great job. Well today I went in for a frozen pizza and I decided I would try 2 different IPA singles from the beer garden. When I went to purchase my singles the women working that area got very defensive when I asked her if I could please hold my own ID and singles up so she could scan and do what she needed to do to ring me out. I have high risk 3 year old twins that were premiers and have multiple health issues now. She told me that she had the right to refuse to sell me beer and I should leave and never come back. I gave her my ID to scan when I should have just left because I was embarrassed to where I had people behind me and I didn’t want it to look like I was doing this because there was an issue with my ID. Totally shocked I went and got my pizza and 2 hours later I’m still upset with what happened. I will absolutely be calling their corporate offices and 15+ years of working in the upper perk area I know lots and lots of folks because of my profession. I speak with thousands of people a year and I will absolutely weigh in and tell whoever needs input to not shop at Weis in Pennsburg if you have high risk members of your family. It is really sad I can’t ask an employee of theirs to hold my items I’m buying so I’m not putting my family at risk over something so trivial. Super disappointed with Weis in Pennsburg. Update: Even though the company responded to my feedback, the blood is still there (see added photo). Again - they have no cleaning processes in place.

Secondly, today a manager told me I can't walk around the store with beer because they have designated areas for beer. The law relates to designated areas for consumption and purchase. I'm allowed to still shop with the beer and pay at the beer checkout later.

All I see at this location is incompetence and poor cleaning processes. For a dollar spent at Walmart, you're going to spend $1.20 at Weis. Their prices are high and the place is gross. Shop somewhere else.

I don't normally retail shame, but I need to for the sake of food safety. We live nearby and shop here out of convenience. The store constantly has a fishy smell to it. Today we went in and the fish smell was so bad we had to leave. It's pretty obvious they don't clean their drains or their cases. Also, over by the frozen vegetarian section, on the bottom shelf, there is a pool of blood on a tray underneath the product that's been there since I can remember (around the DARING chicken area). So overnight teams stocking the shelf see it and never clean it, and also there is no meat in that area so that tray was put there at some point and never cleaned. The meat walls have blood all down the fronts. If this store cares so little about food safety, I hesitate to buy produce and fresh items. BUT they do sell beer so...
