If I could give them one star I would. Last week my family and I went in around 6:30 for dinner. We ordered mainly breakfast and one patty melt so our order was very simple. We waited for over an hour and a half to receive our food. After asking several times where it was the server just kept apologizing but our food still never arrived. Eventually the two younger children we had started to act out and we requested to have their grilled cheese and pancakes brought out as soon as possible. We were told that wasn’t possible as they have a new system which as a waitress I know is not correct. One of my family members finally approached the the front counter to ask for anyone else to help us. As at this point we wanted to leave and already saw two tables get full dinner meals, eat, and then leave before we even got the two bagels we ordered. All of a sudden the food comes out completely cold and they forgot the pancakes for my small child. We requested the pancakes and weirdly they came out in 2 minutes? We couldn’t even finish the food and had to get it boxed due to the children’s bedtime and they had already had enough. When we spoke with the owner she was nothing but rude. She blamed her server and the new system as that was the customers fault. She also said they were very busy and we were a large table. The table had two children and three adults. Maybe 6 tables in the whole restaurant and at least 5 servers so clearly they were not busy. She took off the pancakes as “they forgot them”. However I know from experience the whole meal was never made and we were forgotten about. We were nothing but polite and patient. We asked for a refund and she was extremely unprofessional and would not allow a refund. We paid and will never be coming back. The employee at the front counter even said she saw us sitting for so long and how she would never be that patient. I would never have asked for a refund if I didn’t think we deserved it. But an hour for cold eggs and bagels is ridiculous. The owner did not even apologize and just kept shrugging her shoulders. I will definitely be letting other people know about my experience here.
As I saw the owner answered back just want to be clear this was not Father’s Day or any other holiday. It was a week day night. And they didn’t take my family talking to them and explaining the issue seriously at all that night. The owner literally ignored us even after another waitress told them that it was ridiculous how long we waited and even they would have left if that was then. The owner just kept shrugging her shoulders and making a...

Friday, April 24th, 2023 We haven't been here in quite some time. Decided to give them another chance. Since inflation, I feel like Pennsburg Diner hasn't raised their prices & now they're more affordable than other places. All of our meals were delicious & our waitress was the bomb. My omelet was ginormous & scrumptious. I'd definitely come back more often after our last visit. The menu has been extended & sadly, the salad bar has been removed. I think my omlette meal was around $10.50 & it was an extra $1.50 for cheese. It came with potatoes and toast (I opted for raisin toast and I'm happy it came out without butter so I could do it myself) So good! Kids all loved their meals. Spaghetti dinner, I think, was only $10, came with a huge bowl of noodles (menu says its spaghetti but if you look at the photo, it's actually linguini which my husband doesn't like as much as spaghetti. The menu is inaccurate), 3 substantial meatballs, a huge side salad & soup. I wasn't a fan of the cream of broccoli, but the side salad was legit - it had crutons, cucumbers, carrots & cherry tomatoes. They didn't skimp, it was a bangin salad & Ken's dressing is the bomb.
Original review several years ago: Our meal took over an hour & all we ordered was a pork roll sandwich & rare burger. Our waitress was in lalaland... Couldn't get anything I asked for & the order was wrong. When the host asked how our meal was, I informed him of an extremely long wait (over an hour) & he blew me off. Why ask how it was if you dont genuinely care about your customers? Hm.
For a diner, it's okay. Limited menu & slightly overpriced for a classic greasy spoon, in my opinion. It's definitely not my first choice of diners...
Read moreWe have been going regularly to the New Pennsburg Diner for many years and have always had an excellent dining experience! The food is always of the highest quality. The staff are friendly, conscientious, and professional. The owners strive to ensure that their patrons are well pleased and taken care of. We think of them as a second family and the diner as a "home away from home". As with any business, there are customers who are never happy anywhere, so one needs to take those folks and their comments in stride. This diner is an important cornerstone of the community. In the covid world that we now live in, it's important for them to offer all types of dining. Responsible people can make their choice to dine in or to order take out. The staff have been following CDC guidelines and personally I have never seen more cleaning being done at a restaurant than this one. When the diner shut down indoor dining to follow PA mandates for two weeks earlier this month, it was a devastating feeling to know that we would not be able to experience the emotional side of "going out to eat". People making these mandates need to realize the importance of that experience in addition to just eating food. We need to learn how to live with this pandemic in a safe way and shut downs of small to mid-sized restaurants which follow CDC guidelines are not the solution. Airports, malls, box stores, and other places that have many people together are the problem areas. If they don't need to shut down, then most certainly this restaurant is correct in staying open. The owners of this diner are providing a huge benefit to many people living in this area. I for one am thankful that they have the courage to exercise their legal right to continue their business as...
