Blue Sky Gift Shop has been around forever - I remember when they opened across the highway and a mile or two down. My kids were tiny then, and now they're grown.

The owner is different, but the store is as lovely as always. I love to browse just to see what's new. Tons of seasonal stuff and always a lot of new things. It kills me to go into a gift shop multiple times just to see the same things, but while they have some things every time, most of the store is a revelation.

I ran in today, five days before Christmas, to see if they had any Christmas placemats and something that I could use as centerpieces. I told myself even as I walked in that they wouldn't. Most people know way in advance how many people, how many tables, how many for Christmas. I didn't. Menus are changing, decor is shifting, people are coming, and staying with me, and I didn't know until yesterday. I don't have time for a trip into Pensacola. Not sure if the lady who was working is the owner or an employee. I came in on 11/11/22 at 5:45 Pm. When I walked in she looked ticked that a customer had the nerve to walk in the shop. I was trying to be nice and I said, I've never been here before! If looks could kill I'd be dead on her floor. She said something snarky and turned her back on me. I looked around for a few seconds and wasn't impressed with the gifts there. I left because she was such a snot and to be honest wouldn't pay anything for the junk there. Even though they close at 6pm. She locked the door as I was walked out the door lol I think she was mad because I came in and she wished she locked the doors before I got there .It was 5:50 not 6!
