Have you ever returned an item and was then asked for your name, phone number and signature? This is what was asked of me today at Jeffrey Alans. I went in to look for plant stands. I soon noticed one of the staff following me around the store. She didnāt have in a name badge and she didnāt ask if I needed assistance. Initially I assumed she was another customer until I went to the cash register to find her and another young lady behind the register. I then realized what was happening. I liked the item I was buying (a $100 item) so I decided to go through with the purchase even though I felt singled out because Iām black. I left the store with my purchase and decided to go to Hobby Lobby where I found a similar item for less (no one there followed me around and the cashier was quite pleasant and personable). I then decided to return the item purchased at Jeffrey Alan where a different lady was behind the counter. I wasnāt going to make an issue of all of this. I planned to just never shop there again. But then the woman proceeded to pull out a stamp and she stamped the receipt with an unusual and unwarranted amount of force. She asked me to write my name, phone number and signature the receipt. I said, first someone follows me around the store and then you ask me for my name, phone number and signature??? She then told me that this was the process anytime they are giving money back to a customer. What??? I have NEVER been asked for this information on a return! Plus she clearly had my receipt AND it was paid for using a credit card! No cash was changing hands. Jeffrey Alan I am so disappointed in you. I truly expected more. This was not my first time shopping here but will be the last time. Please, donāt patronize me with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJeffrey Alans have an area of handbags, jewelry and scarves which is towards the back of store. I went through that area to browse and suddenly there appeared a sale lady. She watched me and was present the whole time. Even when she could see I was just browsing. Finally it was so awkward I decided to at least ask her a question about a handbag. Jeffrey Alans should train their employees not to act like the customer is being watched as if they are going to steal an item. No one did that in any other of their Depts. You can browse quite freely through out the store without any sales lady following behind you. If they are that afraid why not have a counter or desk and have someone work that area and watch from a decent amt of space but not on top of the person, following behind them. It was a bad experience because it made me feel like I couldn't browse freely. I really should have browsed aimlessly around making the sales lady tired but I would have also been tired so it wasn't worth it. I am not about anyone doing their job but there is a way to do it without making the customer feel like she is actually being watched and not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTo say i was disappointed is an understatement. I saw they were open and had nothing special to do this sunday. So i go in looking for fall decor. Everything was great i loved the fall items never being in this store before i was really excited to take a look around. Then i notice a lady following me at first i thought she was just a customer. Then noticed she was everywhere i was and went down every aisle i was in. Getting uncomfortable i turn and ask if she worked here. She says yes and ask if i needed help i told her absolutely not. I would have been a return customer but after this absoulty not what a horrible experience. I asked the man at the register if itās normal behavior for employees to follow customers he said sheās not we just close at five to which he could have easily said that when i walked in the door not just follow me around. I donāt steal and am very offended will not return and will spread the word about that horrible experience. Ruined my entire day and made me...
