While I realize this is a training school, it is still a business, and it is one of the most unorganized businesses I've ever had the displeasure of working with. Warning: somewhat long story, but worth the read if you're planning on going here
I had gone to Tricoci a few times before to have my nails done, and it had always been just fine. Not fantastic, but not horrible, so I decided to try out their aesthetic services. I made an appointment for a facial and wax about 4 days in advance to guarantee a time slot. The receptionist scheduled my appointment for 8pm. On the day of the facial and wax, I called to confirm the appointment, and the receptionist confirmed it with a peppy, "We'll see you at 8 tonight!" So, I show up to Tricoci about about 5 till 8, and the doors are locked.
Obviously, I'm confused. Then a girl (who I later found out was the receptionist) gets out of her car and asked if I was the 8pm appointment, to which I responded, "Yes." She then proceeded to tell me the appointment never should have been scheduled and that it would not be able to happen that night. I asked why I didn't receive a phone call, and she claimed they could not access my number with their system. However, she told me they opened at 9am the next day, and that if I got there early, I could probably get in and out pretty quickly. At this point, I'm annoyed, but still want the facial and wax.
The next day, I show up at 9am. And while the doors might open at 9, they certainly weren't ready for business. The receptionist hadn't started the computer or opened the cash box, and all the students either had just arrived at 9 or weren't arriving till 9:30. At 9:15, I finally got checked in. Sure, I was frustrated, but I still thought I was going to get a facial.
What happened next was completely unacceptable. The same receptionist from the previous night who told me to come in at 9am that day informed me there were not going to be any aestheticians at the salon that day. She told me I would not be able to get the wax at all. She said a cosmetologist could give me a very basic facial in about an hour (so 10:30am) but that it would not be the same type of facial I had booked an appointment for.
While she seemed apologetic, it's clear she had no idea what was going on. She did give me $20 of their "bonus bucks," but honestly I don't plan on using them. The level of professionalism at the salon was dismal, and now I understand why people pay a little more to go to actual salons rather than risking it with this disappointing wild card. I do not recommend going to Tricoci, and plan on spreading the word about this horribly frustrating experience to others as well. Just because this is beauty school, doesn't mean it isn't a...
Read moreI'm a disabled Veteran & due to my injuries from combat I'm unable to paint my toenails myself. Needless to say my feet are often neglected. With everything going on my life I desperately needed to take a timeout for some self care. I decided that since my feet are often neglected and I'm unable to care for them myself I would schedule a pedicure, out of all the nail salons in Peoria I had my choices and I'm so glad that I chose to go to Tricoci University of Beauty Culture in Peoria. My nail technician Victoria did a wonderful job and although she will be graduating very soon I will be coming back again for more services and she was kind enough to even refer me to a hair stylist that specializes in micro braiding when I checked out I made sure to schedule an appointment with the recommended hair stylist and I'm looking forward to my next visit!
If you're looking for a place to go and Peoria to pamper yourself I encourage you to come and visit Tricoci University of Beauty Culture in Peoria. The atmosphere is positive and upbeat, everybody is so friendly and It's wonderful to be in a place where everyone is supportive and encouraging to one another. It's also a give & receive type of experience as you are helping students hone in their specialties and trade while doing something nice for yourself All I can say is that this is a place that keeps on giving.
Thank you Victoria for helping me get ready As I prepare for an unexpected trip and for the wonderful conversations. I love how my nails turned out and when I go to visit my family I will be bragging about how good of a job you did and your wonderful customer service!

Read moreI should have read the reviews before wasting my time on the phone with this "business." I wanted to take my teenage son for a facial. When I called the first time, I was told that there wouldn't be anyone to do the facial, but I could call back and try scheduling one at a later date. About an hour later, I received a call from the school that we could come in that evening. I told the lady that I wasn't able to come in that evening and would call to make an appointment for another day.
I called back about a week later to schedule a facial. I scheduled the facial for 3:45. I called on our way to confirm the appointment, and was told that they had it down for 3:30. I know how long it takes to get from my sons school to the beauty school and knew that she had written it down incorrectly. She checked to see if they could take him at 3:45. They said that they couldn't, but could we come in at 5:30! Nope, I'm done.
I realize it's a school, but don't waste your time. If trying to get an appointment is this difficult, I'd hate to see the quality of...
