Dollar General — Local services in Peosta

Customer service is by far the worst here, that I've ever seen it at any other Dollar Tree or Dollar General in the Dubuque County area. Wow. No staff at the front of the store for checkout. If there are staff and you need help with something, good luck, you will never get it or if you do, the staff member is so angry that you actually are afraid. A friend of mine had just gone in today to buy a lady's venus razor and took it off the shelf which caused an alarm to go off. From all the way at the front of the store, the employee yells what my friend thinks she hears as "ill be right there". Instead, 1 minute of the buzzer going off the employee comes to the isle and literally yells "IT'S NOT LOCKED HERE". My friend, clearly now scared, says "Oh I'm sorry, I thought you said ill be right there". The employee then comes over to her, grabs the item from the shelf pulls it up and points to a lock you are supposed to unfasten and says, "RIGHT HERE". The employee and my friend then walk up to the front of the store and all the while my friend is being a normal person and saying "I apologize" and what not with no response from the employee. My friend at this point is not really scared anymore, but now a little angry. The employee doesnt give my friend her change and then just stands there staring. My friend, now a little upset then says, "you forgot my change". The employee checks the receipt, then angrily types in some numbers to open the cash register and gives my friend her change with no word being said. I was super excited that they opened in Peosta. After the fire I heard that they only kept one employee. I found this surprising as they had a bunch of great employees before the fire. However, I was blown away that the only one they kept was their worst. This guy is absolutely horrible. You ask him how his day is going, he grunts. You tell HIM to have a nice day, he responds, "probably not". I don't know if this kid is related to ownership or what, but he has no business dealing with customers. If I walk in and see him, I walk out. It's that bad. I'd give him negative stars if I could. They do have a bunch of other great employees, but the fact they keep this guy employed keeps me telling everyone to avoid this location. Until he's gone I will...

I’m glad to have this store in Peosta, but before the fire the staff was great EXCEPT NICHOLAS!!! Has TERRIBLE customer service I hate!! To walk in this store and he just stares not a hello welcome to dollar general do you need help finding anything or nothing 😒 I always try to use self checkout to not have to curse him out cause it’s coming he is very RUDE to everyone, not to mention after the fire you god rid of all the old staff but kept his RUDE AZZZZZ I don’t know why, but keep in mind this can change people from patronizing this store 😳 but I’m letting you know now that if he come out of left field with me I’ll cuss him out from hear to eternity just a FYI and you need to meet with him ASAP.. have the day...
