A Star Trek fan's paradise! This very large gift shop is dedicated almost entirely to Star Trek related items, with a few Star Wars and other sci-fi related trinkets thrown in for good measure. They have just about every Trek item you can imagine from uniform tunics and other clothing items to books, models, toys, patches, posters, paintings, photos, buttons, stickers, games... you name it! They even have a replica original series command chair in which you can pose for pictures. And, while they apparently use the space next to their store for administrative purposes, it also houses a large model of the movie era U.S.S. Enterprise as well as models of other cool space vehicles like a Saturn V rocket.
They are staffed entirely by volunteers and I think it's likely that some of their revenue goes to "The Federation" which is an organization setup in the '80s with Gene Roddenberry's blessing to do charitable work. The two people who were manning the shop when I visited were super friendly and helpful, too.

Read moreI've tried several times to stop at the store but was unsuccessful because they have limited hours. I finally got to visit and was very pleased to learn that they are a non-profit run by volunteers (hence the schedule) And the money they make goes to community projects.
