Read moreMake sure you check your receipts. Went in to purchase earrings for my five year old daughter. Was shown the earrings for my daughter but never told the price. The associate then took me to the register told me my total was $167 and that it included a lifetime warranty. Awesome I paid and went to my car even though I felt that seemed expensive for little girl earrings (I went in expecting to pay $75-$100 for little girl earrings but thought maybe I was out of touch with the cost of jewelry) Feeling off put about the purchase I looked at my receipt and noticed that I was charged $55 for the life time warranty that I neither asked for or was discussed about me purchasing. So I went back into the store. The associate asked me if everything was going ok. I simply asked if the warranty was required with my purchase because I would never purchase a $55 warranty on a $100 item. If something happens to the earrings I’d simply buy new ones. She then proceeds to tell me to calm down it was an accident. I stated I am calm I just want my money back that I did not give permission to be taken. She proceeds to keep apologizing and share with me that her house burnt down over the weekend and she doesn’t usually do this type of thing. Needless to say at that point I left feeling guilty for asking for my money back. The entire transaction felt very deceitful from the beginning. I went in to get to get clarification on my purchase and now refund of the money for the warranty. And was told nothing was stolen from me because a refund was granted despite the fact I was only refunded because I happen to look at my receipt. I stated employees get a commission from the sale of those warranties therefore directly benefit from the sale of them. I was then informed they don’t get commission until they sell so many. Therefore still benefit from the sale right? All employees need retained in ethics and policy. If someone came into your store and took a piece of jewelry from the store without your permission but you caught them and they agreed to bring it back, it’s still...
Read moreMy boyfriend specially designed a ring as a gift for me, he brought it home December 23rd, 2016. It is now March 21st, and this is he THIRD ring I've had to get sent in and replaced bc the opal or the amethyst has fallen out. First time it was no biggie, wecond time they say, "Oh, well the opal is a soft stone you know." I do know that, but ad a jewelry store that upcharges inexpensive stones, you should know how to set the stones in various rings, pendants, etc., to where they will not move. The third time, and might I add we picked the third replacement up on Friday, today is Tuesday and the stone has fallen out, when my boyfriend called their response was, "Oh well it is a cheap sterlig silver ring. Maybe if you'd bought gold or something." How unprofessional! He paid roughly $300 for the ring! I've bought myself amethyst rings from WalMart and even those stones didn't fall out! And how dare they try to upcharge him after having to drive a half an hour one way to drop off and pick up a product he paid for already and has to keep sending in? To not even be satisfied with the outcome! I will NEVER make a purchase at any Kay Jewler's location and I encourage anyone in my area to take your...
